CHAPTER 13: LUCIA

I felt like I was in some type of James Bond movie when I escaped the guards Ivan assigned to me.

I just told them I needed to get something important from my apartment this morning. When they dropped me off and I saw they weren't planning on entering the building with me, I took my opportunity and walked straight to the emergency exit. It was too easy.

Hopefully, I don't get in so much trouble with Ivan or put my guards in trouble as well.

I see an ice cream truck parked on the other side of the street, so I walk away from the park to the sidewalk so I can cross the street.

It happens so fast. One second, I'm crossing. The next, I'm looking left to know where the screeching noise is coming from. Two black SUV's come to a sudden stop right in front of me, and no matter how firm my foothold is on the ground, I'm still pulled into the back of the first car.
