Sofia’s pov I wasn’t the only female around the table right now, there were a few other women sitting beside who I’d presume as their husbands, and I instantly noticed that they were older than I am. They kept regarding me with unreadable expression and as expected, i acted like I couldn’t feel their eyes on me.I noticed when one of the men offered a cigarette to Luca which he declined, and almost immediately, he was offered something that was wrapped in brown paper that I knew produced smoke as well. Luca accepted it but didn’t lit it. He was offered drink which he accepted and cradled in his hand, but I was very sure he wasn’t going to be tasting it. After that, all the men around the table fell into a conversation that I wouldn’t even be able to understand why if i had paid all my attention to it, all I knew was that they were talking about some wears and other things which I didn’t waste time in tuning out. I glanced around after that I was quick to avert my gaze from a sc
Sofia’s pov The first thing I had thought of when everyone around the table were suddenly pointing their guns at Luca, was that they were somehow going to shoot him or something, but because I could even think of anything else– Luca, who didn’t even look unfazed while being pointed over twenty guns– began to speak.“There’s someone here who’s pointing his gun here right now… I thought this whole place was supposed to have been filtered well?” I watched as everyone remained frozen, but Luca gestured to the man standing exactly before him to shift a little, and when he did– the dancer and the man she was grinding on remained frozen in a spot.“There they are.” Luca drawled to everyone around the table, and when the men around the table still looked unsure, was exactly when everything broke lose. Before I could blink, the girl was sliding off the man like a snake and whipping out a gun and a couple of knifes which she flung towards our table as she began to shoot. The next thing
Luca’s POV I had headed to the club tonight, although knowing it was dangerous, more dangerous than what usually goes down in my clubs back in Italy – but I hadn’t expected a fight as heated as that to break lose. Thanks to Sofia who had alerted me when she had done.I tugged her against me and stroked her hair, and then I thumbed her cheek after a moment. She was blinking up at me, and even though she had said she was okay na m st the club, I knew she wasn’t, I could feel just how fast her heart was still racing right now.“How did you notice the gun being pointed at the table we were situated at?” I asked her after a moment. “Oh, that was because I was bored and was just staring around, and then I noticed it.” She responded and I stroked her cheeks some more.“Those people were assassins, bunny.” “Really?” She asked as she blinked up at me and I hummed. “Yes, bunny. And assassins are really dangerous people, they’re trained to kill and they’re very good st it. I’m so impre
James’ pov “Finally…” I muttered as I dragged in a deep breath. I was currently outside the venue where the meeting had finally been held. After some coffee had gotten spilled on me yesterday morning by a stranger who had probably scraped her hands when she had fallen, and had then proceeded to make matters worse by rubbing her bleeding hands over my shirt. It had all ended up in her fainting and I had had no other choice than to take her over to the hospital that morning, therefore automatically canceling the meeting which I had spent months trying to put together.I had been really pissed yesterday, and thankfully, the people had agreed to reschedule the meeting to the very next day after I had thankfully managed to convince them to do that. And now, it is finally over. And of course, the deal had been signed. I was going to put a call through to Luca tonight to tell him the good news, but right now? My empty stomach was reminding me that I needed to put something inside.
James pov “What do you mean ‘no one’?” I snapped after a few moments and watched as she jolted a little.“I meant I have no one to call.” She responded almost immediately and I scoffed.“What do you mean by that? How is that possible?” I paused. “Don’t you have any best friends you could call?” I asked and watched as she slowly shook her head.“Family members?” I asked and noticed her swallowing emptily before shaking her head.“Bullshit.” I responded while levering her with a pointed look. The doctor came into the room almost immediately and I turned to him as I began to speak.“Did you get the phone she had on with her? There must be the number of someone that could be reached.”The doctor shook his head. “She wasn’t with a phone when she got brought here. I glanced at her with a pointed look and she watched as she huffed out a small breath as she spoke. “I left my phone back at home.“Great, just great. And where’s this ‘home’?”“Around.” She responded and I leveled her with
James pov I knew I was being unfair and selfish right now.All I was doing right now was plain ridiculous to me, I didn’t need anyone to point that out to me. The money for my ruined suit was nothing to me because I own about a hundred more suits, along with the money I had used in settling off the doctor after I had brought Blair to the hospital yesterday, the money was literally nothing compared to the money I had in one of the numerous bank accounts I had.The reason why I was probably doing this was because after listening to her speak about how she had no one to call and how the doctor had talked about her health, something had began to swell inside of me that I had no way to interpret yet. All I was sure of right now, was that I was worried about her.I watched as tears slowly sprang to her eyes which she tried to blink away instantly, but they ended up trailing down her freckled cheeks slowly.“But– I don’t have any money.” She finally whispered in a voice that was a littl
Blair’s pov Life has always been unfair to me, in every area and corner, it has always been really u fair to me. The fact to that as soon as I was overcoming a particular problem, so was another one coming up, right out of the blue. It was starting to get quite tiring and I really wished there was wasn’t I could get it to stop. The hospital’s door got pulled open without knocking, and even without glancing over, I knew who it was.“You’re getting discharged today.” He announced in a deep voice that I was starting to despise really well right now, because that was the voice of the man behind my latest dilemma right now.I remained silent and flinched when I felt something being thrown on me.“Don’t just act like you can’t hear me right now, I really don’t have the time for this right now but still made time for this.” He snapped and I glanced at what had been thrown at me, which I now realized were clothes, right before I glanced up at his unsmiling face. Of course he was in a su
Blair’s pov Despite how much I had tried to convince him that I could make my own way home and didn’t need him to take me home, he kept on insisting and here I was in his car that probably caused millions of dollars. I squirmed in the psssenger’s seat and felt really embarrassing because he was definitely going to see the place where I stayed. He had still not started his car yet, and when I glanced at him, I realized that he was writing something on a couple of papers. On noticing my stare, he began to speak. “I’m just sighing my part of the papers, I’ll be done in a few moments.”I remained silent because I was wondering how that was any of my business, but then he was handling the papers to me after a few moments and I was blinking at him in confusion.“Go through it and put in your signature.” He explained and i spluttered. “Why the hell do I have to go through it? What’s it to me?”“You might as well go through it instead of asking me all these.” Was his response and i hu
