Chapter 8

Alfredo and Anita walked up to the large mansion that belonged to Felix, Anita's father. Alfredo was nervous about meeting him, even though they had interacted in the past, it was never under such circumstances.

As they approached, the door opened and a stout man in his late fifties stepped out.

"Dad," Anita said, walking over to give him a hug.

"My daughter," Felix replied, embracing her tightly before turning to Alfredo.

"Hello, Felix," Alfredo said, trying to sound confident.

"Alfredo," Felix replied, his voice cold.

"I wanted to thank you for assisting me in getting out of detention," Alfredo said.

"That was not an entirely selfless act," Felix replied. "I expect you to pay me back in the future, when I ask for it."

"I understand," Alfredo said.

"What about my daughter?" Felix asked, his eyes on Anita.

"What do you mean?" Alfredo asked, glancing at Anita who seemed anxious.

"I mean, what are your intentions with my daughter?" Felix asked. "Do you plan to leave her now with me now
