Chapter 20

Elena's POV 

"Shoot" 

He ordered his man and a shooting sound reached my ear before everything became still. 

My ears started ringing and my head started spinning. The man holding my throat left me and I slumped on the ground gasping for air. My eyes were closed and I was trying to feel any kind of pain or bullet in my body.  But I wasn't feeling any except on the throat that was in the tight clasp of a monster a few seconds ago. 

My heart was still beating and the way I was gasping implied that I can still breathe. 

I opened my eyes at another gun shoot to find the man who was pointing his gun at me lying on the ground, a river of blood was flowing out of his head. His eyes and body were lifeless. 

A shriek was ready to erupt out of my throat and deafen others but it died in my mouth as soon as it emerged. I became completely numb looking at the pool of blood and the deceased man lying in front of me.
