Between Them - David & Jason

I was finally at my parents' annual gathering. This thing is mandatory for me, but I could easily skip it if I wanted to. Though I was not feeling it, I need to forget about Brandon. And David had been unavailable for me.

"Claire honey, glad you can make it. You're beautiful baby..." mom hugged me, as she kissed my cheek.

"Claire, just like your mother...beautiful baby. How's college?" dad asked, sounding genuinely interested in my story.
