Hotel

To my surprise we arrived to a very crowded place in the city, it was a hotel that apparently was owned by Casandra's family, but nobody knew it, only them. Also no one had any idea that we were there, for the rest of the world this family was hidden in some hacienda out of the problems of the city.

The hotel was something luxurious. Not just anyone would enter that place, but the only ones who were there were Casandra and I, because there might be a secret meeting with another of the most powerful families, but there could not be much movement in that place, since we were facing a complicated situation and with the insecurity we had at that moment it was the best option we took. To everyone we were a simple couple who were going to spend a night together.

We were only supposed to meet with one man, he was the alpha of the Mapron family, it was the third most important and the most conservative. They always tried to keep the peace between the two races and we were just waiting to hear his position on what was going on. For some reason she was not at the last meeting.

When Casandra and I arrived in a kind of white room with a table. He had already arrived, he was sitting some kind of newspaper. When he saw us he was surprised. He was a bearded man with blue eyes, red hair, round face. When he saw us enter the room he did not hesitate to address us.

-What about his father," he asked.

-He didn't show up, so me and my fiancé will be at this meeting.

He became serious and put his hand on his chin.

-Wasn't your fiancé the stupid one from the other family that got us into this trouble?

-Ah... he... We broke up, since he did that stupid thing and for now I'm with this guy.

-Well, it's not my problem what you do with your life, but understand something. You have the burden of leading your family, your half brother is not fit, so the only choice is you. It is likely that your other relatives will come to claim your position, what will you do?

-I'm getting married in a few weeks.

-Okay, I understand, let's not waste time on this issue. Well, we just need to talk about this problem. The vampires are not going to stop no matter how much we apologize. They feel very angry about what happened. So they are going to start executing several of us. According to reports there are 20 dead, all of them of our race. The only option we have is for her ex-boyfriend to turn himself in. With that we will calm them down a bit and avoid a war and more senseless deaths.

Cassandra, who knew him well enough, decided to speak up.

-He won't do it, he is too egocentric and selfish, he prefers that some people die before him. His family spoiled him a lot, so the only thing we can do is to pressure him with the other families to close their business with them and make the companies collapse.

-I had already thought of that, but it's not enough. They have money to live on for several years. The best thing to do is to make the banks also help us and suffocate them economically. They won't be able to leave the country.

I felt a little uncomfortable there, although I understood the whole conversation very well. I wanted to leave that place, but if I did something wrong I would let Cassandra down and I didn't want to do that.

[...]

I left the room with Casandra, we went to the tenth floor of the hotel, for security, since it would be much easier to escape, if something happened, we had false names, but some members of her family knew we were here.

The two of us would start playing boyfriend and girlfriend. We would sleep in the same room and we would be in that place for almost a week, so we had to get used to this situation.

We would have no phones during that time and could not have contact with anyone. We just had to wait for Casandra's brother to come, since everything was very fast and there was too much uncertainty.

In the room there were two beds, but we would only use one, I would stay overnight near the door waiting for something to happen, despite being in the hotel and with some security measures. We could not be confident.

Shots were heard a little ways away. No place was safe right now. I started to close the windows and forget what was going on. I missed my mother and my siblings, despite everything, but the situation at the moment was complicated, the best I could do was to stay away from them while everything was going on.

I turned around and saw Casandra, she looked quite tired, in a matter of hours her look changed. I walked over and sat down next to her.

-So, what am I going to do from now on?

-I just have to ask you something, are you willing to go through with this? You are free to leave now, the city is in chaos, you could meet the same sad fate as mine.

-I can't, I'm indebted to you, you saved me, if you hadn't helped me that day, I would be dead.

-That? Don't worry, it was for revenge, I loved seeing my ex's angry face. Don't feel obligated to do something you don't want to do.

-Still, I can't leave you, I don't want anyone to hurt you, your uncles and the vampires. And I already told you. I'll marry you, just rest, it's been too hard a day.

She lay back on her bed, but began to stare at the window. Like me she was very curious about what was going on. The view from this hotel was very nice, part of the city could be seen from here.

Casandra, although she didn't tell me, was worried about her father. We were cut off from the rest of her family for security. She had the responsibility of being the alpha of the main family and if she failed she had to step aside and stay under the orders of her uncles.

I decided to sit back down on her bed to better understand what was going on.

-Does this responsibility bother you so much?

-It doesn't bother me, it's just that I don't know how to handle this and my uncles won't help me, they will simply turn their backs on me to claim my position and leave me to my fate, I don't want to make mistakes and you see, we look like rookies in front of that man.

-But at least he already knows that you are not alone. You're with me, even if I'm not from a traditional and rich family, I'm one of the few that exist and he's willing to help you.

She smiled a little and began to talk to me in a more confident way, little by little we both left behind the distrust between us, but at that moment I did not remember that we were in full moon and that influenced a little in our behavior, the looks between us changed and a strange atmosphere was felt, that incited us to get closer.

Casandra began to act strangely, she hugged me from behind and kissed me on my neck. I didn't say anything to her because I felt just as excited and wasn't thinking clearly. However, screams coming from somewhere interrupted us and I was once again encouraged. Gunshots and shouting sounded from several areas, it sounded like a simultaneous fight.

I got up and looked out of the balcony and saw several werewolves fighting violently in the street where we were. Cassandra also got up and was terrified to see the scene. It was a merciless battle and blood and fur began to fall everywhere. We didn't know if it was an isolated incident or if it had to do with the problem at hand.

I decided to take Cassandra by the hands and prevent her from seeing that scene. I didn't want her to worry more about what she was going through. It would make her think more about her father and what had happened to him.

I helped her sit back on the bed and kissed her.

-Well, now that everything is decided, you must listen to me, I will be your support from now on. The best thing is for you to rest. We don't know if we can get out of here tomorrow and you can't stay awake. Everyone must see the daughter of an Alpha, not a scared little girl who doubts her decisions.

She listened to me and took my hands, she didn't hesitate to say a sentence.

-Well, honey, I'll listen to you. Please wake me up early, we have to watch the news. I'd like to know if my father shows up.

-Don't worry, that will be the first thing I'll do, just rest, I'll take care of you.

Just as I had thought, Casandra thought a lot about her father and could not sleep thinking about him.

With my help she slowly lay down on the bed and wrapped the sheet around her. I went to the bed that was near the door to stand guard with a pistol, besides I had six cartridges. I was ready to protect her, since I had decided to be her husband. I didn't want to fight in wolf form, as it was more dangerous and I probably wouldn't get to fight just one, and I didn't want to involve Cassandra in this wild fight.
