The ride felt like it took forever and no time at all. Em's arms around my waist, her body pressed against my back it was torture and paradise wrapped up in one hell of a package.

I could hear Em talking to Sofia through the thin bedroom door, her voice muffled but animated. Probably telling her best friend about the family drama, the threat from Kane, maybe even about me. The thought made something twist in my chest.
