Teddy’s POV
I always enjoyed cruising the open roads. It gave me a sense of freedom that I could never achieve as an Alpha. As the leader of the Grave Hounds biker gang; the atmosphere was more relaxed. I could party as much as I wanted; and cause as much mayhem as I felt like. Screw rules I scoffed to myself as the wind buffered my face. “Hey boss!” My second in command shouted from beside me. Normal people probably couldn’t hear a voice over the hum of so many Harley’s; but most of the gang were rogue werewolves who did not want to be tied down by a pack. “Yah, Chip?” “The next town over is Richmond, and Bertie’s bar is there. We should stop and make camp here for a good time.” “Great idea, I’ll call the alpha of the area and let him know to expect us so there is no trouble.” I hated politics- but sometimes it was needed; especially to keep my gang safe. “You all ride ahead, I’ll pull off here to gas up.” I held up my hand with my middle finger and my thumb out, signaling to the gang to follow Chip. I pulled to the right and slowed down for the gas station. It was only half full; but at least I would be good to go all the way to the destination. If I remember correctly, I mused, it’s Alpha Scott for this territory. I took out my simple flip phone and searched my contacts. Most of my gang laughed at the sight of my phone; but I did not care. The Nokia could last almost any wipeout I had on my bike- so the joke was on them for their delicate smartphones. It has been four years since the last time the his gang had been through this territory, so hopefully Alpha Scott was still amicable with them stopping for a while. The line rang a few times before a deep voice answered. “Alpha Scott here.” “Hey Scott; it’s Theodor Grave- leader of the Grave Hounds” “Oh, Hey Teddy- what can I help you with man?” I sighed and relaxed. I guess we left on decent terms last time, good. I thought to myself. “The gang and I will be cruising in; and want to stop and recoup in your territory for a bit if it’s alright.” Alpha Scott did not answer right away, making me tense again. After a few seconds, Scott finally spoke. “Same rules apply as four years ago, man. No shifting in city limits, no causing public nuisances, and one week is all you got.” “One week? It was a month last time we strolled in there.” “Times are changing Teddy- the humans start to get suspicious of people with more strength than them. Plus there is a pack war going on right now. My people are antsy with outsiders at the moment. I can tell you the moment any of your gang steps out of line; you’ll have to move on for the sake and security of my pack.” I cringed. This is why I hated packs. Always fighting over the stupid shit like land and hunting rights. But I could understand it for this city; lots of green spaces surrounded by farms with a few nature preserves and lots of woods- all with a decent city to boot too. “I get the message man, I’ll pass it to my men as well.” “See you at your bar then?” “Sure; you’re more than welcome to party with the big league Scott.” I hung up the phone and gassed up. Hopefully my gang followed orders this time around. Lately they had been burning bridges left and right with law breaking and stirring up trouble. Alpha Scott was one of the few places they could turn to now and, although they all preffeeed the open road and nomad lifestyle, it was nice to stop every now and then too to enjoy more modern amenities. I mounted my Harley and kicked it into gear; Richmond, here we come, I thought to myself. We had done Nix’s ceremony last week on the full moon, making sure all of our loose ends were tied up when it came to Dominion; and as a thanks she had let me visit with my parents for a while, both of them fawning over me and exited Nix would be showing them my wedding. There was also the surprise of another pup waiting for me with them, a little girl if I was not mistaken. The little wolf pup was almost the spitting image of my father’s, her eyes a startling blue as well. I smiled to myself then, glad that Teddy hadn’t noticed the morning sickness yet, I wanted to surprise him on our honeymoon. Heather was to my left as I held out my bouquet of flowers to her as Alvin gave me away to Teddy; her little girl with shocking red hair and brown eyes, Meadow, playing with the pail of flower petals still. I smiled at Teddy as Beta Walter began to speak. “Wolfkin who are gathered, we are here in love and in life, in honor of our Goddess and her way of blessings. We honor these
One year later Melody’s POV I stood at the door leading outside, Alvin at my left side. “I’m still mad at you for never telling me any of that!” I teased my uncle, poking him in the side as we waited. “Well, no one really asked me about anything here in America, so I liked being treated as a regular human being, no harm in that.” He shrugged at me. It turned out that Alvin had been a member of the SAS for the British, having been honorably discharged at a young age when a bomb shattered his leg, hence the cane. When he had joined his law firm, he had already had the clearance required for them to deal with their more ‘select’ clientele. His specialty had always been with swords, and training with wolves had given him an edge that few could surpass. He had taken down Axel’s mentor Hogarth within five minutes, making the Viking follow him around any time they were together now. The music changed outside, making me hold Alvin’s hand more tightly. “Are you re
Jude’s POV My Goddess… I was frozen on my feet as they wheeled the supposed hero of the war into the hospital wing, his scent hitting me like a freight train. When I saw his face as well, I felt the blood rush from my head and go straight to my toes, leaving me woozy and feeling ill. “Not like this…” I whispered. “Save Axel! Don’t touch me, focus on him first!” Melody yelled at the staff, using her alpha voice to get them to back off. The Doctor yelled at me again, spurring me into action and getting me out of my haze. I needed to save this wolf at all cost, not only to yell at him for never coming back for me, but to also make sure he knew he had four beautiful little girls in the world waiting for him. How the drunk I had hooked up with at the bar turned out not only to be my fated, but also that he saved our Queen was beyond me, but I could not afford to hesitate anymore. “Scalpel; clean off this area here.” The doctor gave orders for what seemed like hours, cutting
Axel’s POV That’s my boy! I was impressed with Teddy, not knowing that he could hot wire a vehicle, let alone do it in such short amount of time. It was a dick move of Dominic commanding Melody to do that as we ran, but she shouldn’t have to hold out much longer. We made it to the dock as Teddy sped off, sirens in the distance and getting closer to our location. “Keith! Stay behind and wait for Hogarth! Make sure he gets out alright.” Keith nodded at me and stayed behind, running back from the way I had come. He has pups and a wife at home, it’s not his fault he’s a brainwashed puppet just fallowing commands. But Luke, yah, he could die for all I cared. The bastard had it coming anyway. “As soon as we get on the boat, I’m making the call to clear the way!” I could see the waiting boat just at the end of the dock, making my heart skip in my chest as adrenaline started to flood me at the impending disaster. As soon as we jumped on, settling in with Hans Chambers and Luke, I
Teddy’s POV “What do we do now?!” I yelled at Axel, spitting up water. The walls of the room allowed for no traction to go back, the door being at least ten feet above us. “He said it was about halfway down to get out when he jumped through. I had to try and get rid of Hogarth though before joining them. I couldn’t very well take on that monster as well as Dominic to get Melody away!” “Then what about Alvin!! Melody will kill me if he dies, he’s her only family she has left.” “Don’t worry about the old man; he’s a legend of himself among the enforcers. Not many humans can take on two full grown wolves with only a sword as protection, his lawyer work was more of a hobby than anything; now dive!” Axel took a big gulp of air before going under the water, leaving me more confused than ever. Who the fuck was this guy and what did he do with the idiot I knew? Went through my head as I took a lung full of air and joined him in swimming down. And how the fuck is Alvin cons
I could see the moment his death became clear in his eyes, the options for them both bleak. Revenge was a good motivator though as he used his own blood to spell out ‘basement’ on the floor. I did not keep him waiting as I twisted his head to break his neck, the line that was trying to heal making it tear as I did, almost severing his head completely off. “Basement!” I yelled over the crowd, Alvin hearing me above the noise and nodding his head. We made our way as a pair, his silver armor a deadly combatant to the opposing wolves. It sizzled and smoked with each splatter of werewolf blood, making the eighty year old man the most deadly looking being to face these wolves; almost like walking death. I fought my hardest to protect any impacts or even wolves aiming for his head, Alvin already being too frail as an aging human. “This way, Uncle!” I called to him as I began to sprint, seeing drops of blood making a clear path of where they had taken off to, some of them smelling like M
