Chapter 4

As Liam was taking a shower, Erin walked inside the bedroom, carrying shopping bags in her hands.

One of the things Erin liked to do was shopping. But who could judge her? She used her own money to buy whatever she wanted, unlike her other siblings who still relied on their parents' money.

When Erin walked in her bedroom, she was surprised, angry and disgusted to see a bloody shirt on the floor.

"Liam, you son of a bitch!" She angrily called out his name. "Liam! Get these bloody clothes out of my bedroom now!" She demanded.

Almost immediately, Liam walked out of the bathroom, he had wrapped a towel around himself, and he picked up the shirt. Knowing that even though the shirt was bloody now, it will be good after he washes it. Not like he could afford new clothes anyways. He didn't have the money to buy new clothes. He had tried to get a job, but it wasn't possible to work, due to the work that the Lopez's gave him, he usually spent the whole day working the house.

Erin noticed the wounds on his face, and body and she let out a sigh, feeling disappointed. She stared at Liam as she asked with an emotionless voice. ".... What did you do this time?" She knew this idiot was always causing trouble in the mansion.

"Nothing!" Liam replied without looking at her.

"Right." Uttered Erin, not believing her husband's words. Her family members always complained to her about this idiot.

"I didn't do anything." Liam replied in a soft voice, feeling bad because even though he's been married to this woman for months, she still doesn't know what type of person he is. And she totally doesn't care about him.

Taking her eyes off him, Erin walked to the bed with her shopping bags, placing them on the bed and then she turned and looked at Liam. "Whatever, you should go to the hospital." She instructed. Her voice sounded a bit soft this time.

"It's alright, I'm alright…" Liam replied, walking back to the bathroom before she could finish talking, and that annoyed her.

"Liam… What do you think you're doing? Hey… I'm talking to you?" Erin sternly said, feeling disrespected.

Turning around, Liam made eye contact with her. "Yes?"

"Go to the hospital….get yourself treated." Erin said in a stern voice.

Her career couldn't afford having a dead husband who died in her house, due to her family members beating him up. And her career was all she cared about at the moment.

"I'm alright."

"Fine, it's your life, just don't die on me.. cause that will cause problems on my professional career." Erin said, coldly.

Her words were always blunt and heartbreaking. 'Yeah, cause that's all you care about.' Liam thought to himself.

At the exact moment, Mrs Lopez and Xavier stormed Inside the bedroom. Xavier was carrying divorce papers in his hands.

"Get divorced from this useless man!" That was the first thing Mrs. Lopez said as she walked in. Coming to a stop in the middle of the bedroom, she glared at Liam, "Liam, you'll leave this mansion now if you know what's good for you." The lady warned, pointing her index finger at him.

Erin rolled her eyes at her mom, as she said. "Mom, I'm not doing that… I'm not divorcing Liam." Erin made it clear, and then she moved and stood beside Liam.

Erin knew that if she gets divorced, her parents will get her married to someone she doesn't want to get married to and she didn't want that, that's why she married Liam in the first place. She was just using him to keep her pursuers away. But she would divorce him once she found the right person, she was sure of that.

But Liam on the hand, was dying to get divorced. If he gets divorced, his nightmarish marriage will come to an end. And he can finally start a new life, go far away from the Lopez, to a place where everyone treats him with respect. Just like that Liam was lost in thought, thinking about a life that he'll never live.

"Liam, I'm talking to you honey." Erin's voice snapped Liam out of his daydreaming.

And wow, her voice was surprisingly sweet. And her face was too close to him.

Erin playfully ran her fingers through Liam's shirtless chest, smiling beautifully as she looked him in the eyes. "Babe, what are you thinking about?" Erin asked in a sweet voice. She took Liam's hands and wrapped them around her waist. And then she wrapped her arms around his shoulders. which was all an act, she just wanted to convince her brother and mom that she was happy with Liam.

Liam was confused, he just stared at her, not removing his hands off her waist. Knowing that if he even dares remove his hands off her without being told, he'll suffer the consequences.

"What were you thinking about love?" Erin asked again, her pretty green eyes looking Liam straight in the eyes. She was a great actor, everyone would believe her act.

Trying to avoid her gaze Liam replied. "Nothing, I was just wondering about…" Before he could finish talking, Erin kissed him on the cheeks, to shut him up before he fucks up by saying something that he shouldn't have.

"Babe, you know you don't have to explain anything to me right?" She asked, in a sweet voice, but her eyes were saying something else, her eyes were cold as always.

Mrs. Lopez flashed a bitter smile. Looked like her daughter loved this useless man.

"Well if you're happy, then it's okay to stay…." She trailed her sentence and glared at Liam; Liam lowered his head down in shame. ".... Married to this pathetic, useless, excuse of a man… but get him a job at least." Mrs. Lopez sneered. Now she hated Liam even more than she did at first, and she was even more determined to get him out of her daughter's life, the sooner the better.

Darting her disdainful glare off Liam, Mrs. Lopez glanced at her son. "Let's go." Mrs. Lopez said.

Giving Liam one last glare, Xavier followed his mother out. Feeling disappointed at this moment, he had hoped that after the beating he gave that useless idiot, he would now sign the papers and divorce his sister. But looks like the bastard was stubborn as hell, and now he was going to have to use other ways to get the idiot out of his sister's life.

When Mrs Lopez left, Erin and Liam still had their hands on each other. Liam didn't know whether to remove his hands or what? Having his wife in his arms felt good, and it was the first time he was holding a woman in his hands. He had never felt what he was feeling right now.

And he knew their marriage was just a deal, but he couldn't help it, at the moment he was feeling things for her. He lived in the same house, and shared a bedroom with her for fucks sake, so it was normal for him to have feelings for her.

The atmosphere grew awkward for Liam as he looked into her green eyes, and she was looking into his deep ocean blue eyes.

But then suddenly! The woman removed his hands off her. And yelled at him.
