35. His Ways of Punishment

Nandini was mumbling curses to herself as she stepped into the office premises. She got late today. But she couldn’t be blamed for it. Everyday she came to the office with Manik but he didn’t wait for her today. Instead, he left earlier than usual. So, Nandini had to book a cab for herself and as expected she couldn’t reach on time. She was worried about Manik’s reaction as she was well aware of his punctuality. He hated people being late.

“Shit! I’m 10 minutes late already. Manik is going to fire me today for sure. If not, then I’m sure, he’ll dump the full week's work on me in a single day.” Nandini mumbled to herself.

She stepped into the elevator which leads to the top floor of the office building. Only she and Manik had the permission to use this elevator.
