COMA

"What is wrong with you now?" Leah asked worriedly as she hurried into the room and met Jessica holding the wooden chair beside the table for support.

Jessica was lost in thought for a while.

"What if something bad really happens to him? How will I ever be able to forgive myself?" She thought aloud, her head dropped down in guilt.

"Jessica! You think too much! Westham Pharmaceutical is the best hospital in LA with great doctors like Cruz himself. Cade will be fine. The best you can do is pray for him." Leah advised, removing Jessica's hands from the table and holding them.

Jessica slowly raised her head and her teary eyes met Leah's worried ones.

Leah raised her hand and wiped off her tears, "Let's join, Tyler now or he will be worried. " She suggested, gesturing to the door and Jessica sluggishly dragged her feet out.

Even though Jessica tried to take her mind off him for a moment, it was just so impossible, and immediately after she had noticed Tyler and Leah were done with their meal she decided to make a request.

"Tyler, I need your help." She notified.

"You haven't even had much of your meal and you want to request something from me!" Tyler exclaimed, gesturing at Jessica's slice of sandwiches which she had only had a single bite.

"Look, Tyler, I'm so full right now that I can't even eat anymore. Once I see how Cade is doing then I should be able to eat." Jessica proclaimed and Tyler could only sigh.

"What do you want me to do?" He asked, choicelessly.

"Well, you're Mr. Westham's friend, right? Can you help me meet Cade?" She requested, her ocean blue eyes, ogling at Tyler pleadingly.

"Now is not the best time to meet Cruz. He must be very devastated now and he will definitely vent his anger on you if he sets his eyes on you." Tyler explained, signaling Leah to help explain further.

"You know, Jessie, Tyler is right. You are already hurt as it is and his words will definitely hurt you more." Leah persuaded but Jessica was too adamant about seeing Cade especially after overhearing the commotion at the hospital.

"I don't care what Mr. West Hampton says to me, as long as I can get a chance to see Cade." She proclaimed.

Tyler had no other option than to agree to Jessica's demands.

"I can't guarantee that you will be able to meet him but I can try." He declared.

"That's all I need so shall we?" She asked curiously,

"Sure. Get into something appropriate!" Tyler suggested and Jessica quickly stood up from the table and ran to her room to change her dress.

"You also need to do me a favor, Tyler." Lea requested as soon as Jessica left the table.

"To take her out and keep her company?" Tyler asked, knowing fully well what Leah would request.

"Yeah, I really need to be at the office today and I wouldn't want her to be all alone at home or she will be plunged into deep thoughts again and who knows what will happen this time." Leah assumed, standing up to clear the table.

Tyler also stood up and helped her with the plates before they both headed for the kitchen.

"I also have work to do, Leah!" Tyler complained, though with a smile.

"You're the boss and no one will fire you. I still have to make a bucket list of explanations today for coming in late. You will do that for me won't you?" She asked, dropping her plate on the washing sink and grabbing Tyler's waist, and resting her head on his back.

Tyler was way taller than Leah. While he was 5'7, Leah was barely 5'2 and her head could only reach his back while standing behind him.

"I will, so stop acting so cute or I will have to phone your boss to give you a day off too." He threatened, turning to face her and grabbing her butt which was hiding under her mustard bum shot, her boob resting on Tyler's abs.

"No, you won't!" She chuckled and quickly withdrew herself from Tyler's grip.

"Love you!" She announced, sending flying kisses to Tyler as she ran out of the kitchen to her room to prepare for work as well.

"Love you more!" Tyler mumbled to himself since Leah was already far out of the kitchen.

He quickly did the dishes and waited in the living room before Jessica finally came downstairs in a baby pink off-shoulder A-line dress and black scarpin heels.

"Did you see Leah?" Tyler asked as they walked towards the door.

"Yeah, we talked," Jessica replied.

They both went out to the house veranda and while Jessica waited beside the gate, Tyler went to the parking lot to ride the car out.

WESTHAM PHARMACEUTICAL, INC. LA

"Increase to 200 joules!" Cruz commanded the nurses and one of them quickly rotated a switch connected to the defibrillator.

Cruz rubbed the machine together before shocking Cade's bare chest with it. The life machine beeped and it started reading again and Cruz heaved a huge sigh of relief, his body dripping wet with sweat despite being under a well-functioning air conditioner working at 67°F.

He placed the heel of his right hand on the center of Cade's chest, then he placed the palm of his left hand on top and pressed down by 5 about 2 at a steady rate of 100 compressions a minute. After the first 30 chest compressions, he opened Cade's mouth and breathed air in it. He continued for two minutes before he stopped.

"Bring the stretcher and take him to the Scan room." He ordered and the nurses quickly obliged.

They helped Cade lay on the stretcher they had brought and pushed him to the Scan room which was on the same floor as Cade's room.

Cruz hurried after them until he was stopped by a few doctors outside the scan room.

"No one is injecting me this time around!" He warned, moving his eyes around in search of Big Mommy.

"No one will do that but you can't be in there." Dr. Simpson, a doctor in his late 40s declared.

"Why? Why won't you allow me to do this when I do it for others?" He asked.

"You're family Cruz and by the way, you're trembling, you can't even get a hold of yourself, how would you conduct the tests and even perform a surgery if need be?" Dr. Simpson asked.

Cruz took another look at his trembling body and realized the Doctor had a point.

"Look, Cruz, go to your office, freshen up, have a change of clothes, and eat something. Cade needs you now more than ever and you can't be so weak." Bi mommy replied as she joined them.

"Make sure to conduct an EEG (Electroencephalography) and MRI scan on him!" He instructed before leaving for his office on the last floor.

In a couple of minutes, Cruz returned downstairs to meet Cade back in his room with some nurses, Mrs. Robertand two Doctors.

Mrs. Robert had a gloomy look which scared Cruz at first sight.

"Dr. Simpson, how was the test, what's going on?" He inquired curiously.

The Doctor heaved a sigh before handing out the results.

"As you can see, nothing is wrong with Cade. He has no internal injury, but…he's gone into Coma." He announced and the report sheet on Cruz's hand fell off.

Jessica, who had been watching them through the opened door, gasped in shock, pulling the attention of everyone in the room, including Cruz.

Jessica's guilt-ridden eyes met with Cruz's lethal ones and her mouth immediately went dry as a rush of fear washed over her.

Cruz stood to his feet and walked towards her, his eyes not leaving hers for a second.

Once he was finally just three feet away from Jessica, he erupted into a burst of devilish laughter that not only scared Jessica but everyone else in the room.

"It's so good to have you here!" He announced bowing slightly and stretching his right hand towards Jessica as if ushering a bride into the aisle.
