Signing the contract

"You must be thinking what did you just do." 

Chloe jumped after hearing the new voice and turned to her right to see a man, nearly at the age of her father, smiling at her. Before she could analyze the meaning behind his smile, she noticed a thing. The odd similarities between him and Sebastian Domanco which made her frown. 

"Who are you? And what are you talking about?" She asked in a defensive tone while frowning at him deeply. He let out a chuckle after hearing her. 

"I see that you always stay in your own world, huh? We met just a few hours ago and you already forgot me. Not that I can blame you, we didn't have an official introduction yet." He said with a smile making her frown for several reasons. 

First of all, he was being too friendly with someone he doesn't know and secondly, when did they meet? Then suddenly a thought came to her mind and she started to connect the dots. 

"You were present in the meeting, right?" She asked as she roughly remembers him being one of those four men who were having a meeting with her father today morning. 

"You are right." He said and forwarded his hand for a handshake. "I am William Domanco, former CEO of Domanco enterprise." He introduced himself. Chloe slowly forwarded her hand too. Leaving a olderly man hanging his hand like that for too long didn't look good to her. She gave his hand a small shake before taking her hand back. 

"William Domanco? Father of… the current CEO, Sebastian Domanco?" She asked and he nodded at her with pride. 

"Absolutely. Father of Sebastian Domanco and Daniel Domanco." He said and she just gave him a small frown. "And what's your name, beautiful young lady?" He asked with the same smile. Chloe felt a little happy after hearing him compliment her but she didn't show it on her face. 

"Chloe Jones." She answered curtly. 

"So, Chloe, would you mind following me till my office? I have something to discuss with you." He proposed to her, making her frown deepen. 

"What is it about?" She asked with the same frown.

"I have heard your conversation with my son just now. You can say whatever I have to say is beneficial for you." He said and turned around to walk somewhere without waiting for her to say anything. As if he was confident that she was going to follow him. 

Chloe was confused would be an understatement. She couldn't decide if she should follow the suspiciously friendly father, just after getting insulted by his rude son. After a few seconds of hard thinking, she decided to follow him only. It's not like she has anything else to do at that moment anyway.

They both got inside an office room, less lavish then Sebastian's and got seated down. William sat on the head chair while Chloe sat on one of the two chairs placed in front of him.

William looked at the girl in front of him who was busy examining her surroundings. 

He looked at the young girl who managed to offend his elder son in their first meeting which nobody dared to do till that day and as if that wasn't enough, she even dared to get inside his office forcefully and even accepted a challenge from him. She has caught his interest pretty well by her rebellious attitude. She seemed confident and straightforward to him. From his experience he could say that this girl was something completely different who can put his son into his right place.  

It's not like he is complaining about Sebastian. He is a really brilliant and sweet boy but at the same time he is filled with a lot of attitudes and arrogance which aren't good. Also, the only thing that matters to Sebastian is his work and money. He doesn't care about anything else other than that, not about his family. William needs someone to change him and show him the world outside the office room and he knows that he finally found the perfect person for that job. 

"So, what is it you wanted to talk about?" Chloe asked, directly to the point after examining the place well enough. 

"I have a deal for you." He also came directly to the point, earning a scowl from her immediately. 

"What do you mean? What kind of deal?" She asked in confusion but his words perked her interest. It was the first time someone offered her a contract and she was interested to know what it was about. 

"I heard that you need to have a job and earn 50k USD within one week, right?" He asked and she nodded at him with a small frown, not understanding where it's going. "I hope you know that it's pretty impossible to earn that much money for someone like you and if Sebastian pulls some card, you might even not get a job as a waitress." William stated and by the time he was done, she had a deep frown. 

"Okay, now you are insulting me, just like your son and I have enough people doubting my capabilities for the day. I am leaving." She said and was going to get up to leave when he stopped her. 

"I am not doubting your capabilities, Chloe. I am just stating the reality and trust me if you want to escape that reality, you have to think and work out of the reality." He said, making her confused by his every word. 

"Mr William, can you please come to the point instead of confusing me? That will save both of us the trouble and we can use the time in being productive." She said with a tinge of irritation in her tone as she was already worried about the situation she had landed herself in. 

William wasn't a bit angry by her attitude, rather it amused him about thinking, how it's going to be when she uses the same attitude on his son on a regular basis? 

"You are right. So, back to the contract I was talking about." He said and that took her attention once again. "I can offer you a job and give you 50k USD, if you agree to do something for me." He said and gave her a moment to proceed with his words. 

"What's the thing you are talking about?" She asked with a deep frown. Even though she is in desperate need of the job and the money, she is not going to agree to anything he says. But she wasn't prepared to hear about the 'thing' that he wants her to do. 

"You have to change my son." He said in a neutral tone, preparing himself for any kind of reaction and she immediately received one as she shrieked out loudly after hearing him. 

"I have to change what?!" She exclaimed in disbelief. But he didn't show any expression at that moment.

"We will talk about that later. How about you try to find a job and earn the money on your own first? And after you are done with giving it a shot, you know where to find me. Here's my number. We will talk then." He said with a smirk and forwarded his card toward her. She had a deep frown on her face all the time.

She looked at the card once before looking back at him. All the time the frown was gracing her face like a dark cloud. 

"So, you think I will fail in my attempts to get a job and earn that much money in one week, huh?" She asked, her tone was offensive.

"I know so." He replied back almost immediately with confidence which she didn't like. 

"Let's give it a try and break my self esteem some then." She said sarcastically with a sigh before getting up from the chair. He let out a chuckle after hearing him. 

"At the end of the journey, you will realise what you got after breaking the stone you are calling self esteem." He said. She just gave him a small look before turning around to leave when he stopped her. "You didn't take the card." He said with a small frown. 

"I know where to find you and I know how to barge in." She said with a smirk before leaving the room and leaving a smiling William behind. 

"Chloe dear, you have messed with my son. Only I am the way in here. So, good luck. Meet you soon." He said with a smirk.

OUTSIDE THE BUILDING

"Sorry for making you wait so long." Chloe said as soon as she entered the car. 

"It's okay." Bella replied in a down tone before starting the car. 

That wasn't the reaction Chloe was expecting when she got inside the car which made her frown. She turned around to look at Bella and found her lost in some thought. She frowned seeing that. 

"Bella? What's wrong?" She gave her a light shake which brought Bella back to the present. 

"Huh? Nothing is wrong. It's just that I bumped into someone a few minutes ago and was thinking about it." Belle said simply. But Chloe wasn't satisfied yet.

"Anything I should know?" She asked and Bella just shook her head negatively.

"It's nothing." She assured Chloe before looking at her with interested eyes. "Now tell me how it went?" She asked with a lot of curiosity. Before Chloe could say something, she interrupted her. "No, before that tell me our next destination, now that you are angry with your father." Bella asked with raised eyebrows. 

"No way, I am going back to that mansion until dad apologises to me for what he did." Chloe said with a frown. "Take me to your apartment. I am crashing there for the week, till anything happens." She said and let out a sigh. 

"For the week? What's going to happen in this one week?" Bella asked with a frown while driving toward her personal apartment already.

"A lot is going to happen, Bella. A lot." Chloe said with a big sigh and started explaining everything to Bella. 

They both started staying in Bella's apartment from then. James was too angry at her to call her or ask her to come back which angered and hurt her a lot. Her mom called her a few times. 

Bella was shocked would be an understatement when she first found out about the attitude that Chloe gave to Sebastian. At first she was angry at Chloe for behaving like that with Sebastian, later they both started to search for jobs according to her qualifications.

But soon she realised it was fruitless. Either no big company was interested in taking her in or she didn't like the job. They wasted the first two days in the same way. Then they realised William was right. Sebastian must have his hand behind it. Then they started to find jobs that she never imagined she would do. Starting from waitress to cashier in supermarkets. She tried her luck on everything but it was useless too. Then they realised William was right again when he said she wouldn't get a minor job too.

"I think now the only way you are left with is William Domanco if you want to save your face and your father's company." Bella said and let out a sigh of defeat.

Chloe didn't say anything as she remembered William's word about the thing he wants her to do.

FIVE DAYS LATER

"What do I have to change about him?" Chloe asked as soon she got seated in front of William Domanco who was smirking at her.  

"So, how was the experience?" He asked with interest which irked her but she was on the fifth day of the one week Sebastian has given her. She is now desperate to prove him wrong. So, she ignored his question and popped her question once again.

"What do you want me to change about him?" She asked again. This time William didn't push her button more and forwarded a file toward her. 

"I have mentioned everything in the file. You can read them and let me know if you have anything to say about them." He said and she took the file in her hands. Without any second word, she started to read the file. 

After she was done reading the file, she looked up at him with raised eyebrows. 

"In the end, I get a job and 50k USD and you get a new version of your son. Is that it?" She asked and he nodded at her. 

"Exactly that." He said and she proceeded to sign the contract and then shook their hands to make it official between them. 

'Changing Sebastian Domanco, huh? It shouldn't be that hard.' She asked herself.

But she forgot that she almost didn't do anything to him and she wasn't getting any job and this time she was planning to play with the fire called Sebastian. How's he going to burn her?
