I didn’t want to talk to Lucas, but his name kept lighting up on my phone. He had sent me a million texts but I didn’t respond to anyone.

If only Lucas knew where I lived, I was certain he would have shown up unannounced. If it was back in America, he would have found a way to find my address.

But he couldn’t do that here.

I had taken every precaution to make sure my life remained private. His private investigator couldn’t get any information about my personal life even if he tried.

I was sure that Lucas was frustrated. I mean, I could already tell from his texts.

As I silenced my phone, I hoped that he would eventually get tired and give up. He had a life back in New York, I needed him to just pretend like he didn’t know about the kids and return to the country.

I dropped my phone on the bed and went downstairs to meet Hana. While I was busy at the office, she volunteered to babysit the kids for the day.
