6 Drop off

Ajax held out his hand for me, “Then, now that you agreed, let me have your number.”

I paused, “Huh? You can ask for that from my manager.”

Ajax glanced at Manager Smith and chuckled, “Yes, I know. But it would be rude of me to just ask him. I want to personally ask you so you’ll be informed.”

Wow, rude? He’s only thought of being considerate now when he just got in her life like a tornado?

I just shrugged, “Alright.”

I then typed in his phone number, and he had a lopsided grin on his face.

“Then I’ll call you later.” He winked, waving goodbye.

I could feel someone looking at me and I looked at Manager Smith who was smirking at me now.

I raised my eyebrows, and he came closer to me.

“I can see that smile. Have you seen your photos together? You look cute.”

I blinked. Give it to Manager Smith for being the most random manager. He’s now shipping me with anyone.

“I gotta go now. I’ll go home now.”

He nodded and I went to grab my belongings, and my model shoot bag before walking to the parking lot, making my direction to my motorbike. The thick metal hit my head and before I could even start the engine, a car honked a meter away from me.

It stopped right at me as the windows rolled down, revealing a smirking Ajax.

“Want to ride in my car?” he suggested, more like a statement.

I sighed, not wanting to deal with him. I mean I saw his face for the whole day at the shoot and now that I am on my way home, he still shows up at me?

No thank you.

I mean, I should have refused to be his tour guide in the first place.

“No thank you. I have my own motorbike with me.”

He nodded, glancing at it, and continued, “But it’s raining. You’ll get wet on the road.”

I blinked, realizing what he said, and looked at the night sky to see the dark cloud thundering, as large droplets came.

I muttered a curse under my breath. Did he do something to the weather for me not to have any choice but to accept?

I know I would be drenched and soaking wet if I have to ride my own motorbike, and I easily get colds and sick, I can’t risk that with my job.

“So? Any change of plans? Or are you shy to accept my offer?” He asked, more like triggering my pride.

Releasing a deep breath, I dropped my helmet to my vehicle and answered, “Of course not.”

The smirk on his face turned into a grin as I opened the door, what more to sitting down on the passenger seat.

He then motioned for the seatbelt and leaned over me to help me with it, putting the strap on while his eye is making eye contact with me.

Since I’m proud, I dared to meet his eyes and watched as his eyes grazed my lips for a second before he cleared his throat and checked the side mirror. “Alright, I think we’re good now.”

“Yeah.”

He then turned into an alley as he started driving. Silence came between us, an invisible barrier drawing in, and he turned on the radio to listen, “Always be my baby” covered by David cook.

You'll always be a part of me

I'm a part of you indefinitely

Girl don't you know you can't escape me

Ooh darling cause you'll always be my baby

And we'll linger on

I can’t help but sing along to the song, jamming to it, and I noticed his eyes staring at me, watching me quietly. My cheeks flushed and I bit my lip.

“What?”

His eyes softened and his lips formed into a small smile, “Nothing, I just didn’t expect you’ll have a great voice."

I paused, “I just... like the song.” It’s actually one of my favorites, but he doesn’t have to know that.

He seemed to read through my mind as he asked, “Is it your favorite?”

I nodded, “Yes.”

“I loved hearing this song too.” He spoke up, and I nodded, appreciating how we have the same kind of taste in music.

But I shouldn’t be!

As the song ended, he cleared his throat and said, “Just tell me where you live so I can drop you off.” He said. “Alright?”

I pointed at the nearest convenience   not wanting him to know where I live,  “You can drop me at a convenience store.”

He looked at me as if I said something weird, “No, it’s too dangerous. What if people see you at this late hour?”

“I’m fine.”

He shook his head, “Ellaina, you seem to forget how popular you are here, you know that even me, from another country, knows you right? What more to these people?”

I shrugged, “So? I love my fans, let them be if they see me, it’s not like we have crazy paparazzi's here like you have in your county, and it’s not as if I’m a ghost and can hide from them.”

He nodded, looking at me with a spark in his eyes, “I thought you’re tired and do not want that.”

“Well, you’re wrong about that.” He bit his lip and I gave in, telling him my address, and he immediately drove me there.

I hopped off his car and saw him looking at me, “Be careful there alright?”

I nodded, wanting him to leave now, but he wouldn’t unless he made sure that I went in safe and sound.

I grabbed hold of my bag carefully and walked in silence, letting the night breeze hit me. I went upstairs and saw him finally driving away.  My phone then beeped.

“Take care on walking home. I’ll get your motorbike delivered there for you ;) Stay safe my Ellaina.

-Always be my baby

I can’t help but chuckle at the name at the bottom, knowing all too well that it’s him. Ajax.

Another notification from him appeared.

“Goodnight. Dream of me.”

I rolled my eyes but felt a small smile appearing on my face and fought the urge, shaking my head to clear my thoughts.

Goodness. Today was indeed crazy.
