CHAPTER 16: RED'S STORY

"Thank you for coming with me here, Amber," Red said as soon as they reached his pad.

Amber smiled. "It's alright. By the way, do you live here alone?"

"Yes. I've lived here for seven years already," Red said as he stepped inside and the lights automatically turned on without him doing anything. It was a neat bachelor's pad with white and brown painted pieces of furniture everywhere.

Amber just followed him until they reached the kitchen. Red opened his double door refrigerator and took out a glass of wine together with a box of cake that he bought from their favorite coffee shop. Amber helped him as he prepared the table for the two of them.

"How old are you now?" Amber asked him as they sat down.

Red smiled as he poured some wine into their glass. "You guess. How old do you think I am? By the way, do you drink wine?"

"Huh? I don't really drink wine, but I think it's an exception since it's your birthday. Wait, I think you're as old as me. Twenty-five?"
