CHAPTER TWENTY SEVEN

Amelia hung up the call with her mother and took a deep breath, trying to compose herself. She knew she had to confront Stephan about his sudden absence from work and his newfound dedication to Ethan and Ruby. With a steely resolve, she dialled Stephan’s number.

After a few rings, Stephan finally answered, sounding surprised. “Amelia? Is everything okay?”
