"Jace!" She was finally able to cry, hurrying to her husband like a child who was about to weep for a chocolate. "Y-you see what this thing is doing? She's insulting me."
I kept my simper, and badly tried to refrain from the itch to burst into laughter. She was actually crying like my Liam. That was a really weird thing from a grown up lady like her. I guessed it was one thing about rich people. They always pretended to be some strong guys, but they were truly fragile.
Her husband, Jace, didn't say anything but stare at her, looking so concerned for some reason. I was surprised by that because I expected him to yell back at me. His actions were so shocking. I thought all affluent and cute guys were cold all the time. Wow.
She screwed up her face at him and hit against his arm, which clearly made him jerk out of his thoughts. I wondered what he was thinking.
The doctor turned to me, and frowned at me like I was doing something crazy. What got into him? Was I the wrong one?
"Miss Grayson." He staggered to me, throwing some dirty gazes to my face. "What was that for?" He asked. "This isn't what your agency asked you to do. Do you realize the magnitude of disrespecting your client? What are you made of?"
I swallowed, storing the anger I felt within me. How could he seriously blame me? Did he think I was like some of those ladies who never spoke when some brats wanted to treat them badly? Oh hell, what was with these people?
I snorted, sharply showing my annoyance. "Hello sir. I'm not the one at fault here. Do you expect me to stand here looking gormless, and let her spit some bad words in my face?" I mentioned to him, making him widen his eyes as well. What was seriously going on? Had they never seen someone speak back to them? Or did they think a low class lady couldn't speak back? What world were they from?
"Ex-cuse me?" He scowled more, but I chose to ignore that look. I didn't even care at all.
I turned from looking at him, and rolled my eyes in annoyance. "Let's do what needs to be done, so I can get my ass off here." I avowed, speaking to no one specifically.
For a while, no one spoke. All I did was to ignore their eyes on me. I seriously didn't know what I was doing, but all I knew was that when it came to my ego and self respect, there was no doubt that I couldn't say anything speakable.
But thinking about the whole thing again, was I seriously crazy? What was I even doing? It took me a lot of time and sacrifice to get the offer, so what was I doing? Was I going to lose such a great offer? That couldn't happen. I had been looking for a job for almost a month, and I finally got one. What if I didn't get another one before my mom's surgery due time? Was I going to lose her? Oh Lord, what was I doing to myself?
Not wanting to think more, I hit my head against my forehead in realization that I was ruining my hard work, risking my mom's life, disposing the opportunity I had gotten after a really long time.
Absolutely not!
I turned to the couple and planned on how to go on my knees and apologize, but before I could do such, I saw Jace standing beside me. How did he get there so quickly? Was I lost in my thoughts for that long?
He stared at me blankly and sighed, rubbing his palm against his forehead like a confused person. "Can I speak to you ma'am?" He requested calmly.
"M-me?" I stuttered, still confused at how he got there so fast.
"Yes." He replied acutely.
I chuckled nervously, looking vacantly into his eyes. "Sure." I said.
"Thank you." He added, tottering out of the doctor's office.
I gulped in as I gripped in fear, and paced behind him. I had to admit, I became suddenly nervous. What did he want to tell me? What if he decided to get me arrested for speaking to his wife like that? He honestly seemed to cherish the mean lady. Gosh, what did I do to myself?
My eyes caught Trisha's, but I immediately averted when she gave me a death stare. What were they planning to do to me?
I tried wearing a courageous look as I stepped out of the office, shutting the door behind me. The first thing I spotted was Jace standing by a huge glass window in the hallway, that was almost the size of a door. I breathed out in fear and walked gently to him.
As I sauntered to him, I seriously couldn't help but notice him completely.
I had forever been hearing of Jace Flores, and I had seen him in a lot of magazines, and even on the television. But staring at him, I could see the clear difference between the Jace I used to see, and the Jace who was close to me. He was marvelously different.
As he tucked his hands into the pocket of his suit trouser, his model stature teased my sight. His tousled but neatly styled hair shone underneath the bright light in the corridor. Turning to face me, he gave me a curt smile that reflected his strong jawline and cheekbone.
Getting close to his front, all I could see was his face that I truly hadn't noticed before. His well pointed nose had an appealing look as he still kept his smile. His arched and full eyebrows creased into a bit of a worried look, but perfectly made his brown eyes look devilishly handsome. To wrap it all, his juicy pink lips drowned his face into handsomeness. How could a human be so good looking? Was he a spirit or something?
"You called me sir." I stopped observing him, and I only hoped he didn't notice my intense gaze at him.
"Yes." He confirmed as his small smile slowly disappeared. "It's for a reason." He informed me.
"Ok sir. Go on please."
He sighed. "Firstly, I want to apologize about my wife's behavior towards you. She's just like that sometimes."
"Oh." I said in surprise. I didn't expect that. I thought he wanted to complain about it instead. What a gentleman he was. "That's fine. I sincerely understand her." I lied. It wasn't fine at all. I didn't understand her a bit.
"Really?" His worried look turned a bit happy.
"Y...yeah. I guess." I laughed nervously.
"Good then." He exhaled again.
We were quiet for a while and that got me so uncomfortable. Why couldn't he speak so fast?
"So…" He finally continued. "I want to know if you'll still do this."
I lifted a brow at him. Did he seriously call me out for that? I ought to be pleading to do it. How could he be so nice?
"Sure." I unknowingly squealed. "I mean, I'm more than willing to help you out."
He smiled calmly. "Thank you so much! You are such a nice person. I thought you wouldn't want to do this after what she said to you. Thanks again." He uttered, settling me to a total shock. People always said he was nice but I always had doubts. But, I got my doubt cleared instantly. He was indeed nice.
"Oh." I laughed anxiously again. "That's not a problem at all. Thank you instead."
"Alright then," He smiled so widely, making his cute face cuter. "I'll give you a bonus."
"B-bonus?" I folded my brows in confusion. What did he mean? Why could he not stop making me puzzled?
"Yes." He clearly replied.
"Oh."
"A fifty million dollar bonus. If you need more, I'll give you." He announced clearly.
I gawked at him, and burst into laughter in my mind. Was he joking or what? Fifty million for carrying a child?
"Thanks again." He added, walking back to the doctor's office, and leaving me perplexed. Was he being serious? Fifty million dollars? Oh my God! What was going to be the actual amount then? I was a millionaire already!
"Come down Jill. Come down." I whispered to myself as I breathed out through my mouth. Sincerely, I was almost running amok.
I staggered back to the place and jolted the door open like a crazy person. Maybe I was in one of my daydreams. Something of such couldn't happen in real life.
"So doctor," Jace stood in front of the doctor, smiling enthusiastically at him. "Let's start this right now. We don't have to waste any more time. I need to get to my office right now." He averred.
"But Jace…" Trisha whined from his side. But before she could say anything aside that, he raised his hands in objection, and settled his gaze on the doctor, ignoring her completely.
"We are doing this doctor." He made himself clear, turning to his wife, and giving her a weird cold look. It didn't even suit his face." And that's final." He added, focusing back on the doctor.
I wanted to laugh at how he shunned her but that was definitely going to be immature. I just had to keep my laughter to myself and stare like I knew nothing.
She turned to me as she folded her arms, and gave me a really bad glare. A threatening one. I forestalled from her look, and acted like I saw nothing. Her angry action was only funny to me. Crazy lady.
Oh my gosh! Finally! It's over! It's a wrap! I'm done with this book! Woohoo! Thanks to God! Phew! This took me two months to write. And you know what? It wouldn't have been a success if you guys didn't support me. To be honest, I was kind of nervous to start this book, wondering if it would be a nice story. But because of your wonderful comments, it encouraged me to write it. Seriously, you need to know how important a reader's comment can be. It's like saving a person from drowning(lol π). Three years later…Jill——"Common!" Jace cried from our bed, groaning at himself.I turned to look at him, and shot him a playful glare. "Are you serious? Just get you damn ass off here."He rolled his eyes, and jumped from the bed. And as he sauntered to me, my eyes glued to his sharp, rock abs, that lined so much as his shirt glued to his body. Moving my eyes down to his lap, I noticed that his cock was crying for help, standing so firm under his sweatpants. I hissed at him, and returned to staring at the mirror."You had better go to the bathroom," I teased, slipping my robe off. "Today's Shanice wedding, so I need to leave early. There's no time for that.""Just for a few minutes. It'll be a quickie," he continued to convince me.I grumbled. And before I
Wandering in front of the door of the hospital room Jill was, I worried so much, being really unstable. I couldn't think of anything to do, or didn't know how to react. What if Trisha sent someone to poison Jill just like she had poisoned her boyfriend? My mom walked to me, looking equally worried. "My boy," she called, and took my hands in hers. "Let's be hopeful. Nothing will go wrong with her. She'll be fine."I nodded my head even though I was still doubtful. I couldn't have any hope at the moment because I was the only one around who knew how bad Trisha was."Ok." I inhaled deeply. "I'll try to be hopeful. At least, it's not like I've got any other choice.""Good then." She smiled weakly, and walked back to Jill's mom who was crying already. Why was she crying? It wasn't even like Jill was dead.Seeing how fearful everyone was, I became more angry, then stomped to the
It was exactly eight minutes to twelve o'clock. I hurried out of my car, and rushed out of the parking lot in the church, not even waiting for my bouncers to reach me first. On getting to the front door of the church, I sighted Jill and her mother, and that made me so relieved. To be sincere, I had been thinking about Trisha's threat all along. What if she was actually going to do something again? But well, now that I had seen that Jill was fine, there was no need to worry."Dude you're late!" Ace complained, walking fast to me. "Jill's been so worried. What happened? The final trial wasn't supposed to take that long."I shut my eyes, then exhaled loud. And opening it, it met Jill's. Shit, I didn't want her to see me."Jace!" She cried, holding her long gown, and stomping to me. I was almost lost in noticing how beautiful she was, but I decided to not pay attention to that. I was too late
Three months later…"Mr. Flores!" Brittany barged into my office, holding a bunch of files in her hands, and rushing to my table. "The final judgement on the Miss Maxwell case is only in thirty minutes! You've got to get to the court soon!""What?! Thirty minutes?!" I hopped from my seat, and slammed my palm against my office desk. "How come you didn't tell me? Jeez, you've not been doing your job so well.""Me?" She bulged her eyes out at me, sounding quite informal. "I've come here to remind you, for the fourth time now. I even got to work by six, in order to ensure you don't miss it.""Oh shit!" I hit my fist against the table. "How'll I get there in the next thirty minutes?"She creased her face, seeming quite infuriated. "Hum, I think you'll get there sooner, if you stop speaking.""Are you shunning me?" I raised an eyebrow at me.
I shoved the thick white towel I had used to dry my hair, on my neck, and ran my fingers through my wet hair. Wrapping another towel around my naked waist, I stepped out of the bathroom. As soon I stepped into the room of the hotel I was, the first thing my eyes caught was Jill. She was sitting on the bed, tugging her knees to her chest, and digging her head in between them.I breathed out via my mouth, and walked to her. She had been crying since I told her Trisha killed her friend. I tried to console her so much, but she didn't want to stop crying. I also made love to her a few minutes ago, expecting her to feel relief, but instead, she cried more. What could I do?"Jill." I sat on the space beside her on the bed.As soon as she heard my voice, she flinched, and rubbed her face, not looking at me in the eye. "You're done bathing?" She asked.I soothed th
