“There is a fifteen million dollar trust fund in your name. Your father instructed me to give you the details so you can access it.” Mrs. Lillian said, shocking Karen.“What? Are you for real?" She asked after an extended silence.“Yes, ma. Everything is real.” Lillian answered.“Why should I believe you?” She asked. She no longer knew what to believe“Can you give me your mail address so that I will forward the pieces of evidence your father sent to me.” the secretary said and she called out her mail address. “I will drop the call now. Please check your mail in thirty seconds,” she added politely. The secretary dropped the call and she rushed to open her email inbox. She had a new message and attachment from “Lillian brown.” she clicked on the video and her father's image came on“Hello, Karen. I'm sure my secretary has contacted you, and I'll be on a sheep cruise to the other part of the world by the time you watch this video. I'm sorry for all the wrongs I did. I'm sorry for leavin

He walked into the bar and stood a few feet from the door, his eyes scanning around the bar. He was dressed in black shirts with the sleeves rolled to the elbows and black suit trousers and a very expensive-looking wristwatch on his left wrist, complimenting his rich looks. He looked really handsome as he stood by the door post, scanning the entire room with his eyes. "This way to the VIP section sir" the guard at the door welcomed him, trying to lead him to his regular section. He was a regular VIP customer at the bar, and every time he came, he went directly upstairs."Don't worry, I'll grab a quick drink at the bar" he waved the guy aside, still scanning the bar.Soft gasps escaped the lips of people who were in the bar. It was barely six pm and was definitely not the time to find Jack Antonio in a bar.Jack Antonio was top five richest guys in California. He owned a few businesses scattered around the city and country. His father was a tourist and a big lover of gems so he collect
"You know you could always pick one of them" Neil said, noticing his prolonged stare towards the bar section. Jack contemplated leaving him on the seat and going over to meet the beautiful lady but thought against it. He came with Neil and it would be rude to ditch him for a lady that might turn him down. “No, I'm fine.” he answered and turned, moving inside the VIP section. “You know, this was my favorite bar when I was younger. The women here are perfect.” he stated with a small laugh that exposed his cheek dimples.“But, you're still young,” Jack argued, picking up the bottle of tequila and filling two glasses. “I don't consider thirty-four to be young.” Neil pushed, “At least, too old to be doing those things.” he added with a little laugh. Jack found himself relaxing under the atmosphere. Few hours ago, he was very much tensed about his meeting with Neil and now, they were both drinking and laughing at the bar. “I heard you're married, how is marriage treating you, huh?” He a
Sun rays slipped into the room through the slightly parted curtains and fell directly on his face. He hissed in his sleep before stirring. It was a few minutes after six in the morning. He had worked late into the night and went to bed at half past midnight. That was his usual nature. Anytime he was stressed or bothered, he overworked to take his mind off the issue and it usually worked out for him. Even on sleeping late, he never woke up late, that was how he was trained. He took off his sleeping mask, wore his flip-flops that lay on the floor beside the bed, and made his way to the bathroom. He took a quick brush and made his way downstairs to start his day. His morning was always pre-planned. Wake up by six, take a short run, work out for forty-five minutes and be in the office by eight. He sighed as he walked past the dining area. He had forgotten to turn off the music. He grabbed his phone from the table and made his way out. Fifty-eight minutes past seven, his BMW convertible
“We have carried out about fifteen projects this year. Six minor and nine major construction projects, all in the first half of the year.” The financial manager quoted, displaying the information on the projector in the room. They were in the middle of a financial audit with their investors. After his meeting with Zack holdings had ended, Jack made a quick stop at McDonalds to grab a quick bite that would serve as brunch before driving back to the company. The deal with Zack holdings wasn't finalized yet, but they were on track and it was something to look forward to. “How much were the project valued at combined?” one of the investors seated at the end of the long table asked. He looked to be around his early sixties with a few strands of grey hairs scattered on his head. He sported a serious expression as he looked from the documents in his hands to the data displayed on the screen. “1.5 billion dollars” he replied. "The biggest was worth three hundred million dollars" he added an
He rang the doorbell and waited for a few minutes before it was opened by the maid. “Good evening sir.” She greeted politely as soon as she saw him and he nodded his head in response. He was not the type of person that talked frequently. He preferred using gestures than stressing his mouth. He made his way inside the house behind the maid and saw his mom fixing up the table. “Oh, my handsome-looking prince.” She exclaimed in delight, abandoning what she was doing to give him a tight hug. They stayed in the hug for a few seconds before he broke apart.“That's enough for the day.” he joked and they both laughed.“You are right on time, I was just setting up the table.” She said gesturing at the table where different food items were displayed. They made their way to the dining, chatting pleasantly. His father walked in with a magazine in hand. “Hey, jack. How are you doing?” his father acknowledged his presence with a little wave, taking a seat at the dining table. “I'm fine, thanks.”
He woke up and tapped on the screen of his phone to wake it. The brightness from the phone screen illuminated the room briefly, displaying “5:52 AM” boldly on the screen. He got up from the bed, fixed his legs into his shoes laying by the bed, and picked up his clothes from the table in the room. After dinner the previous night, they had stayed up discussing late into the night. From politics to business to the weather and sports, he really missed having those moments with his parents and he was glad he got them yesterday. He opened the room door noiselessly and made his way downstairs. The whole house was dangerously quiet meaning his parents were still asleep like most people in the city. Taking careful steps, he walked towards the front door, opened it and made his way out of the house into the cold sunrise. The sun was still rising slowly when he entered into his car and drove out of the estate. The road was quiet and empty. Most people living in this part of the city wouldn't be
