Chapter ten - Elsie
I'm not sure where Laura is, she was meant to meet me in the cafeteria ten minutes ago, but she's yet to appear.
Billy and his friends are here though, there's no missing them, they're so loud, laughing and joking around with one another.
Our eyes meet across the room and he gives me a smile that reminds me why I wanted him so much last night. I look down and the next moment he's dragging out the chair beside me and resting his feet on it while sitting on the table.
"Well hey there. If you're on your own you can come sit with us?" He pushes my hair behind my ear and leans down to kiss me. I wasn't expecting that, we may have slept together but I don't know what that means and I definitely didn't expect him to be quite so openly affectionate. "Or, if you're not hungry, we could find something else to do."

We get back to the table about ten minutes before my mum and William arrive, it's so obvious what they've been doing. Aurora and Shane and a bunch of her other cadets meet us in the car park of the camp and I figure it might actually be a bit of a laugh this week. Laura is acting really weird, she told me she was still asleep when I arrived, but she's fully dressed and keeps glancing at the stairs like someone might appear at any moment. "Are your parents home?" I ask, confused because their cars weren't in the drive, nor was Dane's and he's so loud we'd know if he was home anyway. "No, why? Did you hear something?" This has been the longest week of my life and as much as I've enjoyed myself, the forces is definitely not for me. I dying to get home and into my own bed, preferably with Elsie too so I really hope my dad has taken the whore out somewhere. We're just about to leave when one of the Marines calls Luke back, telling him Lieutenant Randle wants to see him before he goes. I've got to hand it to Luke, he's had a tough fucking week and he's handled it better than I would have, I'm not sure I'd still be here, but Luke wanted to prove to the guy that he won't be bullied and scared off, I'm not sure if that's from this or from Cleo. Billy's been back a few weeks now and we've fallen into a regular routine of one of us pretending to be out so we can sleep over in each other's room.Laura's still secretly doing whatever with The Four and my mum and William have eased up on the loud displays during the night. Elsie fell asleep quite quickly in my arms, the redness on her cheek has faded so you wouldn't even know it was there. But my rage is teetering on the surface, she was hurt and I'm almost positive it was her mum that hurt her, I just don't know why.I don't even know how to find out without revealing that I was here and that I care so much, which is making me even more angry and although I think I may have fallen asleep for a few hours, I'm wide awake now and it's still dark."Morning." Billy and I seem to have gotten into a nice little routine when it comes to sleeping together, as in actually sleeping, we don't even have to pretend we're not in the same house anymore, we just wait for my mum and William to go to bed and then one of us sneaks across the hallway, making sure to lock the bedroom door so we don't get walked in on while asleep.I've not yet worked out what to tell my mum about the camping trip yet, but I've got to do it today since we're meant to be leaving tomorrow.In the end I get Billy to drop me at Laura's so I can ask her for any ideas."Why don't you say we're going together?
