It’s the feast. The great hall of Ashbourne is filled with long tables occupied by guests from various packs, piled high with roasted meats, fruit, and wine, along with the noise of laughter and music swelling in the room.

Kieran sits at one edge of the long table, his eyes fixed on Sage sitting beside Rowan, who has a cigar trapped between his lips. Sage carries himself like royalty, like someone who has found what he was searching for, while Rowan looks at him like he’s the only one in the room, uncaring of the glances and murmurs of people wondering why Alpha Rowan isn’t an old man, as they thought.

“We are glad to have you back in Ashbourne; your presence is like a blessing we never knew we needed, Sage,” Elder Mora says, raising a toast to Sage. “I’ve always known you had great potential, and I’m glad you never allowed your status as an omega to diminish that potential,” he says, giving a low bow.
