Chapter 14

I downed the last of my drink and placed the wine glass on the coffee table. I was tempted to get more wine but I pushed against the urge. The amount of alcohol in my system right now was tolerable, adding more would not do either me or my father good.

“Look, Mr. Morgan…” I began, and he frowned.

“Dad. Call me dad, Lisa.” He corrected me, and I rolled my eyes. I was not going to do that until I was ready again. The only reason I even called him dad when I saw him at the door was that I was shocked and taken by surprise.

“Yeah, that’s not going to happen.” I chuckled dryly. “At least for now.”

“Sure…” He replied in a breathy way and kept his eyes on me.

“Okay, you know what? This week has been a rollercoaster of emotions for me, especially sad ones. And I am honestly weary and drained. I have so much anger in me and I am just tired of being angry and hurt.” I explained to him in a very firm and calm tone.
