Chapter 15

I walked to my desk and sat behind it in the chair. Bradley and my former boss were standing with serious expressions on their faces. If I told you that I was not nervous or worried then I would be lying to you.

“Okay, I’m listening.” I placed my handbag on the shiny wooden desk.

My boss unbuttoned his jacket and sat in one of the chairs in front of my desk and Bradley did the same. “Bradley, would you like me to?”

The CEO shook his head slowly and then cleared his throat. He finally looked me in the eyes for the first time since I walked into the office. “I have a major league client that I want to sign for the company. Signing this woman means a whole lot to me and to Powerhouse Designs.” He glanced at my boss.

“Yes. As you know, Lisa, Bradley has turned over multiple projects to our company thanks to you. This is a huge win for us, for you, and for Mr. Specter because we are going to do a fantastic job. But a few of the projects were halted due to insufficient funds.”
