"I'm sorry," Ean said gently. "I didn't mean to scare you."

"It's... you," Justin said weakly.

Ean smiled.

A million different emotions began taking hold of Justin, among which fear, confusion and happiness were dominant. He began glancing around, afraid that someone from the mansion would discover them.

"Why are you here?" he asked. "If they find you here they'll kill you."

Ean sat down next to him.

"Are you going to call them?"

Justin vigorously shook his head, then fell off the bench in surprise as Ean disappeared from his place on the right side of the bench, then reappeared on the left.

"Again, I'm sorry," Ean said, concealing a grin as he helped Justin up. "But as you can see, I'm exceptionally fast and quiet, even for a vampire. It's my specialty."

"I see," Justin said weakly as he leaned back on the bench.

He looked at Ean. He was even more beautiful up close; that wild, brownish-red hair, those dark eyes.
