Aarav’s POV

I was in the conference with the shareholders, we were discussing the perspectives of the future project to expand our business overseas. There was a knock on the door and a girl about 5 feet 4 inches, dressed in perfect simple elegant Indian attire entered the conference room. She was moving a ring in and out in her left hand out of nervousness. A smile appeared on my face with her antics.

I looked towards the shareholders and said “so.. Discussion ended I have an important work”

The shareholders respected him they stood up, greeted him, and left the conference room.

The girl approached him with slow steps, she passed her most innocent and diamond smile to me “Sorry, for disturbing you” she said in her soft voice.

I smiled at this and replied “Not at all, this office belongs to you and it’s your right to disturb me anytime”

She looked down with a shy smile. This was something I loved most about her or I could say I agreed to marry her. She is Manvi Sharma, my fiance. Shocking isn’t it? I might be a desirable man for every girl but I always wanted a wife with simplicity. Many girls are after my status, money but she touched my heart.

I was broken when my father left me alone to survive, I was dealing with lots of mental stress and didn’t have anyone to whom I could share my feelings. I was lonely, and that was the time I realized I needed a partner for myself.

One fine day, I met her at the NGO function where I was the chief guest and collided with her accidentally. It was love at first sight for me, we met many times thereafter and finally, I proposed to her. She accepted it, after her parents' approval.

I questioned her “what brought you here??”

She eyed me and replied “mom Dad had fixed our marriage date which is the 4th of next month”

I was thrilled to hear this, as we were going to start a new chapter of our life. I was tense regarding a matter and this was not hidden from her. She caught me by reading my facial expressions and asked “What’s wrong? Aren’t you happy?”

I denied “no Manvi! I am actually thrilled but there is an issue”

“I have to travel to Delhi for an important deal and that too for 2 weeks” I replied helplessly as I have already made commitments to the clients.

She glanced at me and her face fell “how can you go Aarav? Our wedding is just three weeks Ahead and your business trip”

She was upset over my sudden business trip, but I had planned it a month ago. I held her hand and said “I am sorry, I can’t cancel the trip but I promise to return as soon as possible”

I eyed her with a hope of approval but she gave me a blank look. I smiled and said, “you know I don’t fake promises!”

She finally curved her lips into a smile and replied “I know, but be here at least before one week of the marriage otherwise my parents will say I choose the wrong person as my life partner”

I hugged her and said, “I promise I won’t let you regret…”

“That I will see! Now you want to work or have lunch?” She questioned as few other people were waiting outside to start the second conference.

I parted the hug and tended to think for a while just to tease her for a moment. She glared at me and I replied instantly as I can’t afford to bear her anger “lunch”

She sighed deeply and we headed towards the office cafeteria. The female staff was staring at me. I looked at Manvi and she wasn’t jealous at all. If there was any other girl, she would have asked me to fire all my single female staff due to insecurity that even made me love her deeply.

I ordered the food for us, she was staring at me and seemed to be thinking really deeply. I asked, “What are you thinking?”

She smiled and said, “How can a cute, hot millionaire fall in love with a girl like me?”

I smiled when she praised me “Because I love your simplicity and trust me no girl ever said that I am hot!”

“Because you didn’t give them a chance Aarav, all you have worked for the past 10 years. Look around, girls are desiring for you” she said rolling her eyes around.

I denied “I don’t want to see anyone else! I am committed to you”

“Well, I like your honesty and love towards me, Mr Aarav Sinha," she forwarding her hand towards him "but make sure after marriage you gave me your time. I don’t care about your business trips and deals” she ordered me like a boss.

I smiled and shook my head positively multiple times “Yes of course!. And I can’t afford to lose you because after Dad it’s only you who have supported me”

She kept her hand on mine and said “I had to do it because if we won’t support each other then our relationship won’t be successful right?”

I agreed with her “that’s true.”

The waiter got the lunch and we ate the food. I was only admiring her and she shyly lowered her gaze. This attitude of hers makes me fall in love with her again and again.

I then dropped her home and returned back to the office to complete my pending work. Before the wedding, I wanted to segregate the work to the team so that I can spend mind-free time with Manvi later on and plan our honeymoon.
