Killian's POV

I sighed. Not in the soft ‘I-have-to-chill’ but in the ‘I-need-a-break’ way.

Stephen has begun working on Katie's case again, which was actually the whole intention of coming to his place so we weren't walked in on by the vultures—if that word even existed. I stretched out on his dull blue couch that didn't match the brown rug on the floorboard. To be honest, his entire house was cozy but a bad color riot.

“You can't keep sighing like a woman who has all her kids in ca oma while I'm here doing all the wor,” Stephen said from over the couch. I could imagine the look on his face, that of disapproval. He would shake it and make a pitiful sound afterward. “tch..”
