“They’re gone,” Duncan said, racing back over to us. “I’ve never seen anything like it, the entire Pack charging into the forest to defend our home. It was super epic.”

By this point I had all the younger pups sitting around me as I told them an old Werewolf legend. The older teens were standing by the door, talking with the Warriors who stayed behind, while the younger teens and older cubs were running around play fighting in excitement.

After Tracy and Abby helped tend to my burn injuries, they helped me gather up the pups. They were upset from seeing their parents leave suddenly, and when they overheard the others saying that they were going to war, many of them began to cry.

My story seemed to help, but since I only ever heard it once, overhearing an elder reciting it to Chris and Misty while I was doing chores, I had to fill in the blanks for most of it. And since the pups needed a fun distraction, the filled in bits just naturally came out silly.

“How many Warriors are left,” I

BenWaking up in a large cage wasn’t exactly a comfortable experience.Groaning, Ben tried to remember the what had happened. The last thing he recalled was chasing a rogue through the forest with the others, when suddenly a cloud of gas erupted around them once they cornered their foe in a cave. It must’ve been some kind of sleeping gas, and from how weak he felt, on top of the fact that he couldn’t speak with his wolf, meant he must’ve been drugged with wolfsbane too. Large amounts could kill, but controlled doses could inhibit Werewolf abilities.“I’m glad your awake,” Prince Alec said weakly from nearby, a sad smile on his lips. “I know, I know, I fucked up bad this time.”“We all did,” Ben replied, locating his sister and pulling her still sleeping form into his lap. “No one argued with your decision to follow. Hell, even if you did suggest it, most of us probably would’ve chased after anyway. They say failure is the best teacher, I just hope we live long enough to learn from thi

Luna Belle“Only he can do the impossible, or am I wrong,” the Night King continued, looking around the hall at all those assembled.Belle felt a surge of anger pass through her at hearing that name. After the death of her other son at the hands of that monster, the last thing she wanted was to ask him for aid. Maximus had the same look on his face, but he also knew when it was time to fight, and when it was time to negotiate.Something Belle still struggled with.“I know you insist on claiming that you have to way of contacting him,” Maximus spoke first, fighting back his anger. “But now isn’t the time to keep him secret any longer. I know he’s helped you in your war against the Vampires, and against rogues, but he has also committed atrocities in other Kingdoms too. My son isn’t the only life he’s claimed, as five other youths have been targeted and sacrificed since. But, for the sake of saving our still breathing children, I’m willing to look the other way this one time. Contact hi

Luna BelleThe mass of rogues turned tail and ran away as soon as they caught the scent of the war party, fleeing further and further away from both the town and the Lodge. Grizzle seemed content to chase after them for as long as it took to catch up and slaughter every last one of them, but Belle and her mate shared worried looks between their wolves. However, just before Maximus was about to shift and try to persuade Grizzle to turn back, Lannie shifted instead. As she stood there in the moonlight, naked as the day she was born, she looked at the watch that every member of her Pack put on before they shifted. Cursing, she turned her attention to her mate, who shifted and stood next to her. Belle and the rest of the war party remained in their wolf form’s, circling around, waiting for instructions.“What is it, my love,” Grizzle asked, his eyes warry.“Ayla’s choker was removed,” she said angrily. “We need to get back to the Lodge, something’s happening there.”“If that little bitch

Their scent hit me long before I could hear them.Part of me wished that I had gone with the cubs, but then they wouldn’t have been safe. I needed the rogues to think the cubs were still sequestered here in the Lodge, forcing them to waste time searching the building instead of chasing after them right away.It also forced them to fall right into my hands.I had just enough time to finish the last of the preparations and grab a broom before the front door burst open. Eight rouges walked through, arrogance radiating from them. They were convinced that their plan had worked perfectly. And it would’ve to if not for one fact. I was still here.Survival in a hostile situation was all about playing a role perfectly. If you were a strong fighter, than you needed to master that role. If you were a stealthy assassin, that that was the role you needed to perfect. And if you were a victim, than you needed to play the victim as hard as you could. So, before they even stepped through the door, I

“You can have this after dinner is served and the dishes are clean,” Margaret said pompously, gesturing to the shake sitting on her desk. “And not a minute sooner.”I ignored her completely and walked over to take it in hand. Before she could scamper over to try and take it back, I was already walking away, devouring it as quickly as I could. I hadn’t eaten yet today, nor did I have anything yesterday thanks to Margaret. I wasn’t going to let her get away with that again. I knew I would be punished for this later, but that was a problem for then.I was starving now.“Oh, you little bitch,” Margaret said, practically turning purple when some of the servants snickered at seeing her chasing around the room after me. The servants hated me with a passion, knowing I was far beneath them. But most of them hated Margaret nearly as much. Unless they kissed her ego constantly, she was a nightmare to be around. Lazy, full of herself, and ready to run to Luna Lannie should anyone shirk their duti
