Everything hurt.

Until the banquet started at eight, I was tasked with doing all of the heavy lifting. Carrying plates, silverware, and goblets out to the tables, fetching bags and boxes of food from the cellar, and lugging all the pitchers of chilled wine out to the serving refrigerators. My left foot was still throbbing from that last stupid move I used against Mark, and the top of my right was bruising from where I kicked him in the balls.

From how badly it stung, they must’ve been made of iron.

Like always, it was my back that was the biggest issue. I had to sneak an extra shirt into the bathroom with some duct tape, putting it on under my uniform and taping the bottom so the blood couldn’t easily escape. The problem, aside from the stinging every time I moved, was the fact that it made me even hotter than I already was.

“It’s eight o’clock you halfwit,” Margaret roared when I had the audacity to lean against a cool wall for a moment to both rest my feet and cool down. “You’re in

“How come your not wearing pajamas like you normally do,” Abby asked towards the end of our party when I challenged her once more. She was right, of course, since everyone else was wearing theirs. The younger ones had cute onesies, the middle ones sported their favorite cartoons, while the older ones tried to show as much skin as possible.“I’m afraid I forgot to pack any this time,” I answered after defeating her once more. Tracy came up to me next, winking at Abby. Tracy was my biggest threat as she was the best dancer in the Middle School Dance Club.“You can borrow a pair of mine,” she said with a wicked grin. She was only a year younger than me but already taller and more filled out. She was going to be a heart breaker one day, and I knew nothing of hers would ever look right on me. Besides, looking at her shorts and belly shirt, I doubted anything she had would offer enough coverage. As if reading my mind, she giggled. “I have something more suited to your tastes,” she said, sti

“Nathian,” the Night King said, still squatting over me. “I hear that you and the old man are the ones in charge of this creature’s health. Is it true that she only has a few years left to live?”His fingers still gripped my chin, forcing my eyes to lock with his. The same feeling of need that Lady Brittany consistently used against me once more flooded into me through his touch. He kept is subtle at first, as though giving me a chance to get used to it, but it ever slowly increased as the seconds passed by. I could sense Master Nathian approach alongside Alpha Lord Grizzle.“It is, your majesty,” he said formally. “With luck, she might reach her twentieth year.”“Excellent,” the Night King grinned, still gazing into my very soul. Just before I let a traitorous moan pass my lips, the tingling in my body growing to be too much, he let go and stood up once more. “Grizzle, it’s been too long my old friend. I trust your father is well. I’m surprised he isn’t here now, I’ve been told he ne

LutherHe couldn’t believe his eyes as the girl scurried away on her little cart.Mark was hunched over on the ground, gripping his balls while the rest of the Warriors aside from Kerby laughed their asses off. A curious grin was plastered on Luther’s face as well.“Should we go check on her,” Maize said from nearby, her voice sounded worried to his ears.Luther watched as Prince Alec walked over and took her hand in his. Their relationship had bloomed quite nicely over the past hour. At first she was hesitant to even be near him, but after sparring with him for the last while, they had connected quite well. Laughing and taunting one another like strong future Warriors. The Night King would be pleased by this turn of events.“I think she’s alright,” Prince Alec said, still shaking his head on disbelief. “He never managed to land a single solid hit. She was like a ghost. Your friend is a very curious one indeed.”“Then why don’t you choose her at a mate instead,” Maize teased, pretendi

Ben and Maize ran over from somewhere, about to rush to my side when Luther held his hand up for them to halt.“No interfering, your highnesses,” he grinned excitedly. It was clear that this guy loved fighting, or in my case, massacres. It also didn’t help that my classmates quickly caught on to what was about to happen and also came over to watch.“It’s about time Twinkle Toes gets what’s coming to her!”“Put this annoying omega down in the mud where she belongs.”“Karma’s a bitch, isn’t it, Twinkle Toes.”Misty, Chris, and their whole group of friends were also there, but none of them were saying anything. Lacy tried to but Misty shook her head. It made me feel a little bit better, but that all faded away when Lady Britanny came over alongside Chris. Her eyes were even more eager than Luther’s.“It seems you make enemies everywhere you go, pipsqueak,” Mark said, flashing his fangs at me. “I’m going to enjoy this very much.”Panicking, I looked up at Luther and Mr. Davidson. “I don’t

Margaret spent that first hour trying to kill me by giving me the hardest and filthiest jobs. The other servants laughed alongside her as I struggled to run around completing all the tasks, my right leg weakening by the minute. Thankfully, once I was panting for air and sweating, she called me over to the delivery cart.“The golf cart is broken so you will have to carry this by hand,” she said with a smirk.I just looked at her for a few seconds before answering. “It will take me an hour to drag this thing there, and another hour to bring it back.”“Not my problem, you lazy slut,” she growled as she walked away. “But if you’re not back in an hour for the next load, then it’s your head. She and the other’s all laughed while I groaned and pulled the heavy cart outside by its handle. Instead of making my way to where the Night King’s plane had landed, however, I hauled it behind the Lodge where the equipment shed was located. Inside was the golf cart, along with a lawn mower and other t

Crap. Crap. Crap.My hands started shaking as I kept my head pressed against the grass, Lady Britanny’s expensive-looking white shoes inches from my face. I didn’t want to look up, nor did I want to step in and try to protect my brother earlier, but it seemed that both options were forced upon me.“Look up at me, cutie,” Lady Britanny said, her voice both warm and firm. “Let me see those pretty eyes of yours.”Knowing it was foolish to disobey a member of the Royal Court, I pushed up from the ground and slowly raised my head until I was looking at her chin. She clicked her tongue a few times before bending down and lifting my chin with her impossibly soft hands. And the moment I met her green-eyed gaze, I was trapped.“How much for this omega,” she said after a solid minute of intense eye contact. She finally looked away towards Chris, allowing me to finally look down and gasp for air. I was sweating even worse than when I first took my medicine this morning and a wave of exhaustion t

BenPulling Ayla behind him, Ben all but ran towards his families tent upon hearing his sister’s plea. When they arrived, however, his heart was lifted when he saw Chris and his three friends standing between the Night Prince and Maize.“About time you showed up, dude,” Chris smirked when he saw Ben. “You were about to miss all the fun.”“As I was trying to say,” Prince Alec said, clearly amused by their exchange. “I have no intention of claiming my mate today. I merely wish to spend some time getting to know her at this quaint little festival. There is no need for a fight, but if you insist, then why don’t we take it to one of the sparring fields. I could use some exercise after such a long flight.”Ben pulled Ayla behind him and moved to stand in the line next to Dillan. “Hello again, Prince Alec,” Ben said, crossing his arms. “Mazie isn’t to be claimed till after she completes her time at the Night Court College, which is still some six years away as she hasn’t yet had her sixteent

Night KingSuppressing his aura, the Night King followed his three advisors through the crowd towards his personal tent. He’d only given Grizzle a few hours’ notice that he was attending, making him smile knowing that they had to scramble to make the space available to him. The Night King would make his grand entrance later at dinner, but for now he was content to simply sneak through the throng of his subjects. He'd sent his son, Alec, to distract everyone, and Alec was more than happy to do so. Alec had been pining after his future mate the entire flight, something that disgusted the Night King. He'd spent centuries growing stronger, and equally as important, centuries shortening his list of weaknesses. One of them being the cursed fated mate bond nonsense. His Werewolf side was only a small part of him these days, but even so, the bond was once his greatest weakness. Nothing crippled a Werewolf faster than a mate bond. And he had erased that aspect of him decades ago.He had an ent
