The moon had long since dipped beyond the trees when Diva stirred, the soft breath of dawn brushing against her thick white coat. She blinked awake beneath the shadow of an old boulder, nestled in a hollow of fallen leaves and moss. Her limbs ached from the night’s run, and the ache in her chest—one she’d tried to outrun—lingered heavier than ever.

She had left her territory behind. Left Derek. Left the pain of loving a pack that never truly felt like hers.

Now, she walked alone.

The woods here felt different. Wilder. The scent of pine clung to her fur, mixed with the distant traces of other wolves—unfamiliar, but not immediately hostile. She’d kept to the borders last night, cautious of stepping too deep into another pack’s range. But this morning, something tugged at her senses. Not danger… something else.

A faint padding reached her ears. She snapped her head up, her muscles coiling instinctively, but her posture eased when she recognized the small figure bounding through the underbrush.

“Aila?” Diva shifted to two legs, rising slowly, her bare feet silent on the forest floor.

The pup skidded to a halt, her eyes wide and bright. “You stayed!”

“I didn’t plan to,” Diva replied gently, kneeling. “But it seems the Moon had other ideas.”

Aila’s tail wagged furiously, and she leaned into Diva’s touch. “I followed your scent. It was like... like the wind was showing me where you’d be.”

Diva frowned slightly. Wolves didn’t usually say things like that—especially not pups. The Moon Goddess didn’t just send feelings on the wind… unless She wanted something.

“You’re a strange little wolf,” Diva said softly.

Aila giggled, shifting from foot to paw and back again in excitement. “You have to come meet Elder Mayla. She’ll know what this means!”

Before Diva could question it, the pup bolted, yipping for her to follow.

Diva hesitated. Her instincts screamed to keep moving, to stay out of pack affairs. But the tug in her chest was undeniable. And so, she followed.

The path narrowed, branches snagging at her clothes, until the trees opened into a small, hidden settlement. Dens were dug beneath tree roots and covered with woven branches. Wolves moved about—some in fur, others in skin—pausing to stare as Diva stepped into view.

She felt their eyes on her: cautious, curious, a few reverent.

“She’s the one who saved the pup,” someone whispered.

“Look at her… silver in her eyes.”

“She’s not from around here.”

A tall she-wolf emerged from one of the central dens. Her fur was streaked with gray even in human form, her back hunched slightly with age, but her gaze was sharp, ancient. A hush fell over the clearing as she approached.

“You are the stray the little one spoke of,” the elder rasped, her voice low and firm. “The one who came from moonlight.”

“I didn’t come from anything,” Diva replied carefully. “I’m just passing through.”

Mayla stepped closer, her eyes narrowing. She reached for Diva’s wrist, and before she could pull away, the elder pushed back her sleeve.

There it was—a pale crescent just below her skin, faint but unmistakable.

The elder inhaled sharply.

“It’s true,” she breathed. “The mark of the Moonborn.”

A ripple ran through the gathering wolves.

“No. That’s just a pup’s tale,” one muttered.

“A legend,” another scoffed. “Meant to keep pups obedient.”

But Mayla stood tall. “That mark hasn’t been seen in four generations. And no ordinary wolf brings light into a dying pack’s dark. The Moon doesn’t make mistakes.”

Diva pulled her wrist back, unsettled. “I’m not your savior. I didn’t come here to fulfill anyone’s prophecy.”

“No wolf ever chooses the will of the Goddess,” Mayla said. “She chooses them.”

Before Diva could respond, a sharp howl cut through the air. Wolves poured into the clearing, dragging a limp body between them. Blood matted his fur, deep claw marks across his flank.

“They struck again,” one growled. “Hollowfang patrol. We lost two more on the ridge.”

A younger wolf snarled, teeth bared. “They’re bleeding us dry. One den at a time.”

Diva stepped forward, ignoring the gasps that followed. “You’re under attack?”

Mayla nodded grimly. “They want the land. The river, the forest… They think we’re too weak to fight.”

“And are you?” Diva asked.

The silence that followed was answer enough.

She looked around at the faces—tired, beaten, but not broken. Her gaze returned to Aila, watching with wide, hopeful eyes.

Something stirred in her chest. That same fire that rose when Derek tried to silence her. When others underestimated her.

“I’m not your Luna,” Diva said, her voice steady. “But I am a warrior. And I don’t run from injustice.”

A beat passed. Then another.

A lone howl broke the stillness.

Then another.

And then the whole clearing erupted in a chorus of howls, high and deep, rising into the morning sky.

Mayla stepped forward and drew a crescent in the dirt at Diva’s feet, then circled it with four marks—symbols of the old prophecy.

“The Moonborn walks among us,” she said. “And with her, hope returns.”

Diva stood tall, wind tugging at her hair, the rising sun catching the silver in her eyes. She didn’t know where this path would lead.

But for the first time, she wasn’t just surviving.

She was becoming.

  • Blood Oath Of The Alpha    Wisdom

The first snow hadn’t yet fallen, but the air was already sharp enough to cut. Diva stood at the edge of the Moonborn village, her shoulders squared though her thoughts were heavy. The wolves here moved like shadows—fluid, quiet, powerful. She had come to them not for comfort, but clarity. And they had given her silence.Until now.Fenric, the oldest among them and easily the most feared, found her standing near the sacred stone where elders offered their nightly chants."You came for answers," he said, voice rough like wind through dry leaves. "But you carry more than questions."Diva didn’t flinch. "I carry what I must."Fenric eyed her, the firelight catching the faded scar along his temple. "And what of the mark on your arm? That is no ordinary burn. That is power."She rolled her sleeve back. The sigil shimmered faintly under the moonlight, its lines curved like claw and flame intertwined."I didn’t choose it," she said. "But I won’t run from it either.""Good," Fenric murmured.

  • Blood Oath Of The Alpha    The Wisdom Of The Moonborn

The hush of dawn still clung to the air when Diva stood beneath the twisted pine near the edge of the third border. The scent of moss and river mist mingled with something sharper: tension. A circle of wolves—both from Mayla's pack and the bordering clan—stood with fur bristled, claws half-drawn, eyes watching one another like flints waiting for a strike.Diva stood still, her white cloak trailing lightly behind her, the faint mark of the Moonborn hidden beneath the fabric of her sleeve. Her presence had become something of a mystery among the wolves, but after the night before, mystery had started to become reverence.Elder Mayla, flanked by two of her fiercest warriors, stepped forward, her weathered face set with calm resolve. Beside her, Diva walked with measured grace, though her thoughts were sharp with caution. On the opposing side, the border pack's envoy—a lean, gray-furred male with a jagged scar across his snout—stood tall. His name, Rhoan, was spoken in equal parts fear an

  • Blood Oath Of The Alpha    The Luna In The Wild

The moon sat high and full, watching her like an ancient guardian. Its silver glow bathed the strange land beneath her paws, and every step Diva took away from the territory she’d once called home pulled something from deep within her—a layer of pain, of confusion, of everything she couldn’t speak aloud in front of pack eyes. Her wolf form moved quietly through the thick forest, muscles flexing beneath her white pelt. Each breath she drew into her lungs was different from the one before. The air here was sharper. Wilder. Unclaimed in ways that thrilled her bones. Gone were the suffocating walls of the Alpha’s mansion. Gone was Derek’s scent that clung to her skin no matter how far she ran. Here, it was just her and Aeris—together, raw, and finally free.“We’re getting closer to something,” Aeris murmured inside her, voice low and certain.Diva didn’t respond. She just listened—to the ground beneath her, to the wind weaving through the branches, and to the pulse inside her chest that n

  • Blood Oath Of The Alpha    A Moment Of Peace

The rising moon lit the landscape in silver and shadow as Diva stepped out of the Alpha’s mansion, the cool air brushing over her fur-cloaked form. She wore nothing but a simple wrap of pelt around her, the traditional comfort of her kind. The earth beneath her bare feet felt cold but grounding, and each step away from the place that had both imprisoned and shaped her filled her chest with a strange kind of freedom—and confusion. She needed to be alone. Her wolf stirred within her, not in alarm, but in quiet agreement. They both needed space. Time. The Alpha’s mansion, with its stone walls and guarded entrances, no longer felt like home. She had spent too long trying to belong, trying to gain respect, trying to be loved. And now Derek—Alpha Derek—had poured out his heart, pleading for her to accept him. But could she trust him? Could she trust herself? The forest welcomed her like an old friend, the scent of pine and damp earth rising around her. Crickets sang in the brush, and distan

  • Blood Oath Of The Alpha    A silent Farewell

The pack house was too quiet.Diva sat at the edge of her bed, fingers curled around the edges of her mother’s cloak—the same one she had carried from the ashes of her childhood, the only piece of home that had ever truly stayed with her. The fabric smelled faintly of wild lavender and earth, a scent that never faded with time. It reminded her of who she used to be, long before fate shackled her to a title she hadn’t asked for.Her wolf, Aeris, stirred inside her again.“We can’t breathe here anymore,” Aeris whispered, pacing.Diva hadn’t slept. Not really. The seer’s words gnawed at her like fangs on bone:"Your true mate still walks this earth."And then there was Derek—his confession still echoing in her bones, the scent of him still clinging to her skin from their last encounter. She rose slowly, her body aching with the weight of decisions. Crossing the room, she reached for the small leather satchel tucked at the back of her closet. She didn’t need much. A few shifts of clothes.

  • Blood Oath Of The Alpha    Between The Moon And The Mark

The door clicked shut behind Derek with a finality that echoed through the Luna’s chamber like a distant growl in the night. Silence followed—thick, heavy, almost alive. Diva didn’t move. She stood there, still as stone, staring at the space he’d just occupied. His scent—that unmistakable blend of pine, musk, and something darker—still lingered in the air. It tugged at something deep in her chest. Something primal. She turned slowly, almost cautiously, and made her way back to the bed. The long cloak she wore dragged against the floor like fallen leaves in the forest. When she sat, the fabric gathered beneath her hands, soft and wrinkled, but her body remained rigid. Her heart was racing—not from fear, but from something more dangerous: doubt.Everything he had said… it looped in her mind like an old hunt replaying itself. Derek—Alpha of the Bloodfangs, the one who once dragged her into duty and denied her the right to choose—had just stood before her not as a leader, but as a man. An

  • Blood Oath Of The Alpha    The Alpha's Plea

Diva walked quietly back into her room, the seer’s words echoing in her ears. "Your destined mate is still out there... waiting for you." The prophecy weighed heavy on her chest like a boulder, pressing down with every breath she took. The moment the door shut behind her, silence wrapped around her like a blanket, thick and suffocating. She sat at the edge of her bed, eyes lost in the golden glow of the lantern flickering in the corner. Her fingers toyed with the edge of her blanket, mind racing. Was it true? Was there really someone else out there—the one the Moon Goddess had carved from her soul? A mate that wasn’t Derek? Her heart twisted at the thought. For moons, she had believed she didn’t matter. She was a Luna only in name, chosen not out of love but because a prophecy said so. Derek had made sure she never forgot that. From the moment the Smoothsayer declared her his mate, he had caged her like a she-wolf under command, not a partner to stand beside him.But everything had ch

  • Blood Oath Of The Alpha    The Path Of Visions

The sun had barely started to warm the skies when Diva stirred from the tangled sheets. Her heart still thudded with the echoes of her dream, every beat pulsing with confusion and the scent of the stranger who had chased her through the darkness of her slumber. She sat upright, her eyes darting to the corners of the room as though the stranger had followed her into the waking world. But there was nothing—only the dull hush of morning and the faint rustle of leaves beyond the mansion’s walls. Her wolf stirred uneasily within her, fur bristling beneath her skin.Who was that? she wondered, pressing her palm to her chest. There had been a pull—strong and aching—one she had never felt, not even with Derek. The guards still lingered outside the Alpha’s mansion. Their murmurs had died down after last night, but Diva had no doubt the weight of opinions still hung in the air. She stood slowly, shook off the last threads of sleep, and went to the door. Her voice was calm, firm, laced with comm
