“It reeks of dogs again.” Arce muttered under her breath, wrinkling her nose as she leaned forward in her seat. Beside her, the Vampire King—her father—sat with the same serious face he always wore.

Happening right in front of them was the Bloodmoon Duel.

For centuries, vampires and werewolves have fought for dominion over the human world. This endless struggle, later known as the Clash of Fangs, drew the attention of humans, who soon prepared to wipe both races out. Forced to retreat into the underworld, the two clans had no choice but to make an agreement.

In the end, the elders agreed on one rule: only one clan could rise to the human world each year to feast, so as not to disturb the balance. Thus, the Bloodmoon Duel was born—a battle that would decide which race claimed that right.

For half a century now, the vampires had suffered nothing but defeat. Each year, each battle, each clash against the wolves ended in humiliation.

To Arce, who was born into this era of loss, triumph was a story told by elders with wistful eyes, not something she had ever witnessed herself. She had never once tasted the fabled human blood that her kind referred to as Hades's Nectar. The old ones claimed it was a gift beyond description, a flavor so exquisite it seemed as though Hades himself had blessed it.

Arce's drifting thoughts snapped back when a sharp yelp rang out from the pit.

She wasn’t expecting much from this fight—it would surely be their loss again. Werewolves lived and breathed battle, training from the moment they could walk, while vampires… well, vampires preferred to lean back on their “natural gifts,” lounging in silk sheets and drowning themselves in wine, music, and flesh.

She could only sigh as another one of their so-called champions lost to a mutt. Just as she turned to leave, a sharp, burning gaze from across the arena stopped her in her tracks, forcing her to glance back.

“What the hell is wrong with that bastard?” Arce muttered, narrowing her eyes at one of the Alphas staring at her like she was nothing more than prey to sink his teeth into.

“Language, Arce,” her father’s voice cut in as he tugged her back into her seat. “You are a princess. Act like one—and stand by your people until the end.”

Arce let out a dramatic sigh, shifting in her seat as if she could somehow drape herself in grace despite the humiliation. A graceful loser, she mocked in her head, while the crowd roared at yet another clean 3–0 win for the werewolves.

When she glanced back to search for that Alpha, hoping to meet his arrogant stare again, he was already gone.

Unlike vampires, who were ruled by a single leader—her father—the werewolves were split into dozens of packs, each led by its own Alpha. And yet, despite their divisions, they stood far more united than vampires ever could.

The thought alone burned Arce’s veins. She didn’t care about Hades's Nectar. What enraged her was the idea of werewolves claiming victory again and again. She hated them—hated their scent, their presence, everything about them.

So why, knowing this, would her father dare sell her off to one of them? All for the farce of declaring last week’s duel a “vampire win”?

“Outrageous!” Arce’s voice rang through the throne room, sharp and furious. One week after the duel, her father had summoned her, only to tell her the unthinkable—she was to be owned by an Alpha. A dog!

“Despite my reluctance, it has been far too long since vampires last tasted human blood. Unlike the werewolves, this weakness festers within us.” Her father’s voice was steady, but his eyes gleamed with something darker. “I treasure you more than anything, Arce, yet our people have learned this truth and—”

“—and they’re willing to sacrifice me for their own gain?” Arce snapped, her jaw clenching until her fangs ached. Of course they would. Vampires were selfish pricks, every last one of them—especially those desperate fools who longed to crawl back into the Human World.

“And your pride is alright with this?” she pressed. She didn’t need his answer; the hunger glittering in his eyes was more than enough. He would do anything, sell anything—even her—just for a taste of human blood.

“It is only until the next Duel,” he said calmly as he rose from his throne. His cold hand brushed her cheek, as lifeless as the heart she knew he didn’t have.

“Why? Why would an Alpha give up a win just to have me? Why would the other Alphas allow it?” Her voice dropped, but the memory of that gaze—burning into her across the arena—flashed through her mind. The Alpha’s look hadn’t been victory. It had been possession.

Her stomach twisted. That dog wanted her as nothing more than a toy. A vampire pet.

She bit her lip hard. Her father wasn’t just selling her off to an Alpha—he was handing her over to a pervert.

“The wolf who wants you is Alpha Ynovar Hyde,” her father announced, his tone carrying both weight and intrigue. “His pack breeds the strongest warriors. He is said to be the strongest of them all.”

Arce scoffed, the sound sharp and dripping with disdain. How cliché. She had heard the rumors before—stories of werewolves craving vampires, of nobles selling off their kind not for gold but for powders and drugs that promised ecstasy. But a princess? She had never imagined she would be dragged into such filth.

Her nails dug into her palms until she felt the skin break, but before her anger could spill further, her father leaned close, his whisper colder than his touch.

“But you have a chance,” he murmured. “Weaken them… or kill their Alpha—by accident, of course.” His lips curved into an eerie smile as he stepped away.

Arce froze for a moment, her fury curling into something else. She was being used, manipulated from every angle—her body, her title, her blood. Yet despite it all, a dangerous delight stirred in her chest.

Kill an Alpha?

Her lips curved into a smile that mirrored her father’s. Oh, she could do that.

She would make a werewolf pay.

ArceThis asshole. Just as he was about to open the door, I slammed my hand against it, blocking his way. Bad move—because now I had him cornered. On the damn door. But I didn’t budge.“Allow it, or I won’t let you go,” I said firmly. That made him turn, crouching just enough so our faces aligned. “I wouldn’t mind that,” he whispered, a teasing smile tugging at his lips.I lifted my chin defiantly. “Alright,” I shot back, planting my other hand on the wall beside him, fully caging him in now. That made him straighten abruptly, his back thumping against the door.I arched a brow. Take that, mutt.He only sighed, then suddenly his hands gripped my waist. In one smooth motion, he lifted me off the ground like I weighed nothing—like I was some bratty kid.I yelped, caught off guard, as he carried me to the sofa and set me down with infuriating ease.“As much as I’d like to indulge you,” he smirked, “I have a harvest to oversee.” He said before heading to the door, leaving me on the couch,

ArceI hated these mutts with every fiber of my being, and yet someone thought it amusing to play a prank on me. Fine. I would deal with him myself—Lord Hades. Though I wasn’t sure how just yet.But first, I had an Alpha to pursuade.“There’s no way I’ll cower after what happened last night,” I muttered as I stepped out of my room.“What happened last night?” a woman’s voice cut in from behind me.I turned to see the other dog from dinner, her brows lifted in feigned innocence.“Don’t tell me it was about the meat?” she asked sweetly. “If it upset you, I would like to apologize.”“Who are you to apologize?” I spat, crossing my arms and lifting an eyebrow like a blade. She chuckled, a high little sound that only made my skin prickle. Then she tapped my shoulder as if we were old friends. I stared at the touch for a beat, then shot her a cold look. How dare she.“You should loosen up,” she said, laughing again, the note in her voice tinkling at my last nerve. “I thought vampires were ca

ArceThat damn puppy was starting to bare his fangs. Very well. It was time for me to bite back. I had only been taken aback before, that was all.Father had ordered me to kill the Alpha discreetly, but that was impossible for now. The moment he dropped dead, all eyes would turn to me, the outsider, the foreign threat. So I would wait. I would prove myself first, show them I wanted nothing more than to endure this cursed year. With nothing else to do, I decided to take a walk through the halls, memorizing the house’s structure and every turn it offered. When I returned, the Beta had already interfered with my chambers. The coffin was gone, replaced with something more tolerable, a proper bed soft and warm. At the very least, he had spared me the insult of that ridiculous stage set.And then, at last, came dinner.I furrowed my brows at the sight of a woman I had never met, seated beside the largest dog in this pack, already tearing into her meat.“Finally,” he drawled, not even bother

Arce I froze, eyes snapping toward him, my hands instinctively shooting up to grab both his shoulders. I shook him lightly, abandoning the carefully crafted mask of the untouchable princess for one raw second. “What do you mean required there?”The words clawed at my throat. We both knew what it meant. To be required in a man’s bedroom meant only one thing, and it was something I had no experience in.“Sex, of course, princess. I imagine vampires are more than knowledgeable in that area… even a Bloodling like you.” His tone was casual, mocking, as he gently pried my hands off his shoulders.Damn it. I hadn’t even realized I’d touched a dog on my own.“Whatever do you mean?” I shot back, my voice sharp, though the words tumbled out faster than I’d planned. “You mutts are the ones always in heat. Clearly, you’d know more in that area. Fuck.”The curse slipped past my lips before I could stop it. Again, not the image of the untouchable princess I wanted to uphold.“You are indeed still

ArceThe Alpha strode inside as though nothing had happened, as if that vile act had meant less than air to him. But to me? It was far from nothing. His scent still clung to me, thick and revolting, like a stain I couldn’t scrub off fast enough. And did he just call me little bird?I forced myself to still, to compose, to bury the fire in my chest beneath a calm mask. If he wanted indifference, I would give him indifference, venom dressed as poise. With a lift of my chin, I followed after him, mirroring his ease, acting as if his touch hadn’t irked me.The Alpha house was nothing like the lavish castles or glittering manors of the vampires. It lacked the cold opulence of marble and chandeliers, favoring instead a warmth that almost felt… cozy. Despite its towering exterior and grand arches, the inside was far simpler, humble, even.“As you can see, Princess,” the Beta, whose name I had already dismissed as forgettable, droned beside me, “this will be your home for the year. It would b

  • Blood Oath: The Alpha and The Vampire Princess   Chapter 2

Arce“I must apologize for the arrangement,” Orion said, his voice smoother than I expected. “Both the Alpha and Beta were occupied with urgent matters to prepare for your arrival.”“Preparing?” I repeated with a dry laugh. “That is what you call it? How utterly predictable. Breaking every tradition, spitting on every rule, and still, you can’t even welcome me properly. Tell me, is your Alpha always this… unprepared? Or is this incompetence reserved for special occasions?”I tried to restrain myself from laughing, though it was difficult with the way Orion’s anger practically radiated off him. It was almost comical, if I squinted, I could imagine steam curling above his head like a boiling kettle.Werewolves were infamous for their tempers, and he was barely holding himself together. The only reason he hadn’t snapped yet was out of reverence for his Alpha, the same Alpha who had so generously handed the vampires a Bloodmoon Duel victory just to claim me.When he didn’t speak, though h
