Chapter three

His cold eyes pierced right into hers for a little while and he stood up. Giving her one last glare, he walked up the stairs, heading towards their room.

"Go to your room." Her mother said to her with disappointment clear in her voice, but she did not care.

She couldn't care less about how they felt. She should be the one upset and not them. They were about to give her off to a man she doesn't have any feelings for, all in the name of getting a deal and having more income.

She was turned into a bargaining chip against her will and it frustrated her. Now they are not only selling her off but also spying on her. She had attempted running away but every time she did that, she was always caught and brought back home.

This house, this luxury, everything, seems so disgusting and feels like a curse to her. There was a time she felt so lucky for having everything anyone could wish for, but now, she wanted them all gone. She wanted a simple life, with freedom and happiness.

She did not want to be restricted of her right and let others decide what should go on in her life.

"Go to your room and think about what you've done." Her mother repeated standing there and staring at her.

Turning around, Madison walked up the stairs, ignoring the greetings from the maids, and entered her bedroom.

***************

"Mr. Brooke." A young, handsome man said. His skin was fair almost like the sun, with his long and straight legs. Tousled muscles straining on the top, threatening to spill out, with his back straight, and broad shoulders.

His hair was inky black with hazel-colored eyes and thin pink-colored lips. He had a tight but well-defined jawline with a straight pointed nose. He was the definition of a perfect handsome man.

"Chase Adrian, how's the old man?" Madison's father asked him with a smile. They were both sitting in the grand living room.

Chase Adrian was a well-known popular singer. He was the son of the owner of the tech plus industry, Mr. Brian Adrian.

Mr. Brian Adrian, Chase's father was a successful Multi-billionaire and was well known around the globe. He was a friend to Allen, Madison's father.

They were both rich and powerful on their own but wanted to expand their businesses. Mr. Brian had more connections than Allen and in no time, his business bloomed. During that time, his son, Chase fell in love with Madison but she did not want to give him a chance.

He was known to be a womanizer Afterall and Madison never wanted to spend the rest of her life with a man that she couldn't keep all to herself.

Even Allen did not want to accept it but went against his principles when he made more losses than profits in his business. He wanted to expand it and Brian offered to help, on the condition that he allows his son to wed Madison.

He did not like the condition but his hands were tied. He was the head of the family and needed to feed them. He did not want to wallow in poverty like his father. He wanted to pave way for his descendants.

"You know? Always doing what he loves best." Chase replied and they both chuckled like two old friends.

"You are here to see Madison?" Mr. Allen asked him, as he sipped from a cup of fruit mix.

"Yes, I would love to see... " Chase stopped as he sighted Madison descending the stairs.

Madison was annoyed seeing chase at their home. Oh if only her father knew that all this was just a facade, he wouldn't consider him as his in-law to be.

She was going to make her parents see the true beast, Chase was. She headed for the exit door.

"Madison." Her father called her and she stopped.

She turned around to face him. Her eyes glued onto him as he smiled at her. He was the true definition of a wolf in sheep's clothing and she felt frustrated that her parents seemed to be fooled by it.

"Yes?" She asked and faked a smile, as Chase looked at her. She hated Chase to her core as she had seen the beast in him.

She had been abused by him both physically and sexually but she couldn't get her parents to support or believe her without a shred of evidence.

"Hey babe," Chase said as his eyes scrutinized her. "I was wondering if we could go out to the mall and get some..."

"No." Madison rejected bluntly, to receive a death stare from her father. Her eyes caught sight of her mother, walking into the room, with her eyes locked on her. It felt like her eyes were begging her not to refuse. "...Yes, I'm... I was just..."

"Good then," Chase said cutting her off and walking towards her, he gave her a peck on the cheeks. "Thanks, babe." He said.

"Mmmm," Madison mumbled sadly and looked at her mother again.

"Have fun." Her father said with a smile. He glanced at Madison's moody face but it did not seem to bother him.

...................

They were both sitting in a club and from the look of it, it was too fancy. Chase even flirted with other women but it did not bother her at all. Though it hurt her to get disrespected like that.

She sat in the club, wishing she could sneak and run away but she couldn't. Not when Chase's bodyguards were in the club too. She knew he must have instructed them to keep an eye on her as usual.

"You like?" Chase asked her and smiled at her.

"If you are expecting me to answer that, then you are wrong. I can't f**king drink without sighting one of your bodyguards staring right at me. I am not your wife..."

"...But you are my fiancee." Chase interrupted. "I know what you are planning to do Madison. Don't you dare play any f**king games with me!" He warned her while squeezing her hand tightly.

Madison winced in pain and he quickly released her hand and adjusted his tie.

"I'm sorry." He apologized and held her hand gently. "I couldn't contain my emotions. You know I love you right?" He asked her softly.

Madison's eyes welled up in tears. She did not know if she should laugh or cry at her predicament. What hurts her the most was that Chase was the true definition of a truthful liar.

Anyone oblivious of his violent nature would have fallen for his deceit. She was truly pained and there was nothing she could ever wish for, other than death. To her, death was much better than this torture.

"Hey don't cry, you will ruin this for me," Chase said, wiping out her tears. "That's much better now." He told her.

"You said we are going shopping, so why are we at a club?" Madison asked him with a cracked voice while maintaining eye contact with him. She was already fed up with his bullshit and felt like going back home.

"Ok, I got a friend that... Ah, there he is." He said, looking ahead of him, behind Madison.

She turned around and saw two men in tuxedos and four women, talking and laughing. It looked like they were celebrating something.

"Mr. Jordan over here," Chase called out and one of the men turned to look at them while Madison wiped the streaks of tears on her cheeks.

"Mr. Chase Adrian, what a pleasure to meet you." The man said, walking toward them with a smile.

"Mr. Jordan," Chase responded and stood up taking Jordan's extended hand.

"Ah, and you must be..?" Mr. Jordan said addressing Madison.

"I'm..."

"She's Madison, my fiancee." Chase interrupted with a smile and his right hand behind his back.

"You look absolutely beautiful." Mr. Jordan complimented her but got no reaction or response from her. "You both make a cute couple." He said.

"We wish," Madison mumbled inaudibly and rolled her eyes in annoyance.

"Of course we do! And that's why we love each other. " Chase responded with a smile.

"Pathetic..." Madison mumbled again and stared ahead of her. She seemed not to be interested in whatever was going on.

"I can see that." The man said and looked at Madison one last time. "Ok follow me." He told chase and walked away, while Chase turned towards Madison.

"Stay here and don't f**king go anywhere." He warned her, as they both glared at each other.

"Like I have a choice," Madison said while still maintaining eye contact. " I can't even escape without one of your guards getting in my way." She added and sipped champagne from her wine glass.

"I'll be back ok?" Chase said and a smile crept on his face.

"Whatever. I hope you take your time... " She said and he kissed her hand, causing her to roll her eyes and withdraw her hand.

Chase smiled again and walked away, leaving her all alone at the table, alongside some other people, who were gracing the dance floor.

The club was a masking club and so it wasn't a shock that some people were masked. All those on the dance floor wore a mask.

Her eyes scanned the hall and fell on four able-bodied masked men, that were gracing the floor with three beautiful women and a male. She knew they were Chase's bodyguards as their eyes were constantly on her.

Leaning back in her seat, she sipped from her wine, wishing she could just disappear.

"Care to dance with me?" A muffled voice asked her, as a masked man stood in front of her, with his hand extended.
