chapter thirty-three

Madison gave a glance at the wardrobe, silently praying in her heart, that Alesha should leave quickly, in order not to expose Carl’s presence, as it would complicate things even more for her. She quickly headed toward the ward rope and leaned on it.

“So why are you here?” she asked with a forced smile on her face while observing Alesha. She almost panicked, when Alesha began to approach her.

“Were you talking to someone earlier?” Alesha asked while scrutinizing the room.

Madison felt her heart race as soon as she heard the question thrown at her, but it took her much willpower not to show an expression of shock and panic as it would give her away.

“Definitely not.” She replied with a chuckle, while waving her hand. She began to pray in her heart that Alesha shouldn’t come any further.

“That’s odd, I could swear that I heard someone else’s voice.’” Alesha said and stared at Madison. “You sure you are alone?” she asked and Madison nodded in response to the question asked.
