LOGINKieran's POV I come back to consciousness in a dark room. A cold foreboding chill runs down my spine and spreads to my shoulders. I try to move but I can’t. I jostled my wrists and I realized leather straps are around them, constructing my movement and unforgiving in their hold on me. Panic settles into my lungs as I try to move my legs and I realize they are bound as well. “Please,” I whisper. My voice is weak and my throat is dry. My chapped lips burn as I slide my tongue over them. Everything hurts. The hunger in my stomach is more agonizing than I could have ever imagined. It growls with a ghostly plea for sustenance. Suddenly, the blanket of darkness comes to a halt, and the blindfold covering my eyes falls away to reveal a pair of bright red eyes, staring back at me. The College Vampire. My spirit sinks when I realized it wasn't just a nightmare. This demon really did get into Caius’ house and took me away. How is that even possible? The memory feels too hazy and terri
Kieran's POV All I can hear is the pound of blood rushing against my eardrums. What's going on? Is this a mistake? Am I dreaming? Yes! This must be a dream and any second now he'll pull away from me and I'll wake up with a hard and strained dick. My vampire's tongue pushes into my mouth. His tongue slides and pulls against mine, lightly fighting for dominance and I feel my toes curling in my sneakers. Without breaking our kiss, his hands moved along my back to place me back on my feet. My legs feel like jelly and I whine in protest. The aching stiffness in my joints is all the proof that I need to confirm that this is real. I steady myself against his shoulders, sliding my arms around his neck. Every inch of him is chiseled perfection. His hand moves against the side of my face. The touch is cool and formal but there's a softness to it this time that makes it feel more real. His index finger settles beneath my chin and he raises my head up to angle my face, deepening our kiss.
Kieran's POV Somehow, I find the worst kind of sleep. I alternate between succumbing to a fuzzy slumber only to get started awake whenever I hear something from outside. I can't manage to get comfortable, and a layer of goosebumps are taken over my forearms. When sunlight begins to make its way through the cracks in the treehouse, I draw myself into a sitting position and rub sleep out of my eyes.My stomach grows from hunger and Caius glances at me from the other side of the treehouse. His eyes aren't as bright as they were last night Perhaps it came in and drunk from the blood bags he kept for Beau. Caius gets to his feet and walks over to me. “You don't look well rested,” he observes aloud.“I don't feel a bit rested,” I retort. “I told you to sleep”I sigh and run a hand through my messy hair. It has only been night and I can feel how messy and unruly they are. A decadent smell of onions emit from my armpit and I embarrassingly clamp my arms down. No wonder Caius went to sit
Kieran's POV Beau bounds through the door. The harsh wind whips around his thick strands of hair, his smile stretches from ear to ear, and his bold eyes sweep over the living until it landed on me. I’m settled on the couch, beneath a fuzzy blanket, trying to stay awake long enough to finish the assignment from class. “I have news,” he shouts at me from across the room. He takes a slow step through the doorway. I crane my neck to the side and raise a brow expectantly. Beau plops down on the couch and digs his cellphone from out of his pocket. His foot is bouncing so fast it's making me nervous. He reaches over and tousles my hair. “So what's the big news?” I ask, setting my book aside. Beau presses a few buttons on his phone before turning it around and shoving it in my face. A flier is displayed on the Screen. It's a musical, exhibition thingy and my eyes widened. “Tell me it is what I think it is,” I ask with excitement bubbling through my voice. Beau sighs and dramat
Caius' POV My human wouldn't meet my gaze, his blood pumping harshly against his chest fills my nostrils and I swallow harshly. I know he doesn't understand my strange reaction to his idea. I don't understand either. “I did not mean to frighten you.” I said to him as softly as I could manage. "It's alright," he says with a shrug. "It was my own fault. I'm...I'm just trying to help.” But I know it's not alright because his emotions just changed again. I frowned at him. “Your emotions. They just changed again.” Nervous laughter erupts from his throat. He is the most emotional human ever, especially when he’s so used to being around immortals like we were just another of his kind. The truth is, though, I know that if any other human was around the likes of us, it’d be hard to find one who didn’t react the same way he does. “Having you this close to me makes me think things,” he admits, silently. His skin reddens and I know he must find solace in the dark since
Kieran's POV My Vampire stares at me with a strange look filled with secrets that I don't think I can ever uncover. “Kiss you?”he repeats. “Why do you want this from me, human?” Because even though I hide behind my sass and anger, I've craved you ever since we had our first kiss. Because having you this close to me without touching you is painful. Because I'm in lo… I stop the thought before it can fully register in my head. I'm not in love with my Vampire. That can never happen.. “I don't know,” I answer instead of letting out any of these thoughts. “Didn't you kiss your boyfriend enough when you were with him?” I'm about to respond but something about his question makes me pause. Professor Evans isn't my boyfriend because I'm straight and I've told him that countless times. But Serena and I did share a couple of kisses over the past few weeks when they joined us at Evans' house. There were nights I was lonely and since the two of us always found ourselves in the sa
Caius' POVI travel for hours with my human in my arms and I listen to the soft beat of his heart as he sleeps. It isn't until the first silver of moonlight begins to kiss the horizon that I slow down enough for him to open his eyes. He squints against the Shadows, trying to make sense of where we
Kieran's POV “The choice is yours, Kieran,” she whispers. “So what will it be?” Rebecca's question sounds like a siren, pressing against my ear drums with heated passion. I know she's right; no matter how hard Professor Evans tries to protect me, it's only a matter of time before the vampires fin
Kieran's POV The world around us transforms into a whirlwind of chaos, fear and war, as the weeks pass. Two weeks after the Vampires ambush, the TV and Radio announcements stopped. The last we heard from our leader was that all contacts between vampires and their consorts were banned. His reinfo
Kieran's POV I coughed into the plush Leather Couch. It burns my lungs and tickles the back of my throat. The air is a rough mixture of dirt, dust particles and burning electrical wire. But I refused to let Professor Evans open a window. It just seemed too dangerous. I reach for the pillow ginger
