The stranger’s red cloak whipped in the wind, twisting like a snake as the moon played hide-and-seek behind the clouds. For a moment, everything was unnaturally quiet, no howls, no storm, just the shaky sound of their own breathing.

Liora held tight to Ash's weak hand. The marks on her wrist tingled like a warning beneath her skin. Kael watched the stranger, his whole body tense, ready for a fight. The journal in Liora’s hands was glowing again, its silver light flickering in rhythm with the storm.

The red-cloaked figure stepped closer, snow crunching beneath boots. A gloved hand lifted, showing broken runes that twisted like trapped snakes in the palm.

“You've come a long way, Serelai," the stranger said. Their voice was low and impossible to place, not male or female, just old. “But every step you take comes with a price. Every new door you open, closes another.”

Kael jumped in front of Liora. "We don't owe you anything," he said angrily.

The stranger smiled slightly. "Not yet, but

The light from their joined hands faded, but the warm feeling stayed. For a moment, everything was quiet. The big crack in the ground was still there, but the scary red light was gone. The forest felt still, like it was waiting.Drysana was gone. She had vanished with an angry scream. However, the lady, Mira, was still there. She watched them, her stormy eyes filled with a new level of respect, but also a deep sadness.“You have done what I have not seen in a lifetime; you did something amazing,” she said, her voice soft.“You said no. But she was right about one thing. This isn’t over. The Blood Moon is patient. It will find another way to collect its debt.”Liora’s brave feeling started to fade. “So what do we do now?”Mira looked at the simple wooden box in her hand. The blue light was gentle now. “You have chosen to fight. So you must learn how. You cannot defeat this with strength alone. This evil feeds on strong emotions. Your fear, your guilt, even your love. It twists them int

The world didn’t end with a loud noise, but with a tear. The ground split open rightly under their feet like cloth and bones ripping simultaneously. The cracks glowed with a scary red light, and a freezing wind blew from the bottomless black hole. The cold wind was like the breath of something long dead. It didn’t just chill their skin; it felt like it was stealing the very warmth from their souls, thus silencing even the steady sound of rain.Liora stared into the hole. It wasn’t just a hole in the ground; it felt like a complete void itself, a promise that everything would disappear. The glowing marks on her wrist burned with a fresh, sharp pain. She held the old journal so tightly, as if her life depended on it. It felt warm, almost like a heartbeat, against the terrible cold.On the other side of the crack, the echo-girl Drysana just watched. She was now solid and terrifyingly real. Her smile was cruel and cold. The smile on her face looked just like Liora’s, and she was no longer

The bright light from the doorway faded, and Liora fell into emptiness. Her knees hit a cold, smooth floor, and the journal slipped from her hands, sliding across the surface. She quickly crawled after it, her heart beating fast in the sudden quiet. The air smelled sharp, like frost and metal, and her wrist marks pulsed faintly, warning her of danger. All around her were mirrors, endless, curved walls showing twisted versions of herself, Ash, and Kael. Some showed her wearing a crown of fire; others showed her broken and alone. The reflections didn't copy her movements. Instead, they watched her, their eyes holding secrets.“Ash? Kael?” Her voice echoed, breaking into a hundred whispering copies that seemed to mock her.Ash appeared to her left, his golden eyes burning with anger. "I'm here, Liora. This place is a trap. It's messing with our minds." His voice was harsh, not like the calm protector she knew. He made fists with his hands and paced back and forth like a trapped animal, r

The forest went dead silent after Drysana's warning dissolved into the ice. The forbearers stood frozen, holding the journal so tight their hands hurt. It felt like the only thing keeping her steady in a world falling apart.Ash and Kael stood close, their faces pale and serious under the creepy purple light glowing from the trees. The air felt heavy, like something was watching them and waiting for them to make a mistake.“What did you mean, we’re not ready?” Ash asked, his voice rough and tired from everything they'd been through. He touched her arm gently, trying to comfort her.Liora looked into his warm golden eyes, then at Kael's violet ones. "In those mirrors, I saw us. Different versions of ourselves, some where we win, others where we lose everything and everyone," she said. "This prophecy... It's not just a story. It's testing us. It wants to see if we can really trust each other, even when it feels impossible."Kael shook his head. "Trust is an easy word to say. It's a lot

The ground shook under their feet as the new path opened wide, dark and twisting into the unknown. Liora stared at the rough hole where Drysana had vanished, her final warning still ringing in their ears: “One choice is left. Who will you trust when everything falls apart?”Kael held her hand tight, eyes looking toward the shadowy forest beyond the crack. Ash stood close by, looking pale but strong, his golden eyes serious. The air felt heavy and quiet, like something bad was about to happen.“We don’t have time,” Ash said, his voice low but firm. “Whatever this path is, it holds the key. We have to follow.”Liora swallowed her fear, squeezing their hands together. “Together,” she agreed. They started down the broken path. The ground was uneven and sharp. The forest around them felt like it was breathing. The moonlight disappeared; the path was narrow, winding like a serpent into the darkness. After a few steps, the forest seemed to breathe around them. The moonlight was swallowed, re

Liora’s head was pounding, pain ringing in her ears as she tried to breathe through darkness and chaos. Her hands were scraped, her head hurt, and the stone ritual altar was gone. Now she was lying on the cold, hard ground, tangled in roots and frost.Kael knelt beside her, his face pale in the strange moonlight, his birthmark still glowing faintly.“How bad is it?” Kael whispered, gently brushing snow from her cheek. His hand stayed there, warmer and kinder than she was used to.“I'm okay, but Ash… he's gone," Liora said, trying to sit up. Sadness and anger hit her all at once. “He never got to tell me what was in his heart.”Kael squeezed her hand. “We’ll get him back. I promise.”The forest around them felt tense, like a hundred hidden eyes were watching. The wolves had disappeared, but something more dangerous was out there in the shadows, waiting.Liora's marks felt warm, and the journal hummed under her hand, like a signal or comfort. She held Kael's hand tighter, finding streng
