Chapter 28 More Than Death

Bienley and Devon entered the very quiet room. Only the constant beeping of the monitors was heard.

They are not in Dalton Medical Center but one of the hospitals in the city.

"Time?" Devon is on his phone through an earphone.

"Thirty minutes Devon" the other line responded.

"We are here" Devon replied.

"Okay, all clear. Thirty minutes starts now" the other line gave the go signal.

Bienley approached the bed where the unmoving patient is lying on his back. Several apparatus are attached to his body. He is awake but only his eyelids and eyeballs could move, no other part of his body can.

"Can you see me?" Bienley leaned forward near the patient's face. The patient responded with the fluttering of his eyelid and his eyes stared directly at him.

"I know you can hear me, I just want to let you see my face" Bienley softly spoke.

"What I can assure you is that you will live and you are in good hands" Bienley started while taking his se
