Skylar felt restless through out the night after the occurrences that had played in the day.

Her father muttering Freya's name right before he dizzied off still replayed in her head.

She suspected her. Not just because it was the first thing her father said, that only raised the stakes of her feelings since the day Freya had come to the pack house.

What made it even odder was the fact that the healer had mentioned that the Alpha's tongue had been cut off by whoever it was that had attacked him. But when where he was found in had been searched again, no one found his tongue lying anywhere in the cave.

It disappeared. Not even the fact that it was searched for the same day he had been found could change the stakes of it.

Everything felt off.

She turned from one side of her bed to the other, consumed with thoughts and unable to sleep.

    Everyone's gaze switched to Nova as she began limping with the bowl in her arm. They couldn't tell why she was limping but Freya knew.
