I woke up at 9:00 in the morning and called Nick and said I'm not going to work today because my injury still being a pain in the ass. I set up my laptop on my couch and turned on the T.V and watched my favorite Netflix show. I wish I could go to the office today. Working at home is not much my kind of thing. Although I do work from home sometimes. If you're wondering how I became a detective, I would gladly tell the story.
*Jane's Back Story*
My full name is Jane Crook Watson but I only use the first and last of my name. And also that's why Maria called me Detective Crook. Anywise since I'm in high school, I am very fond of solving riddles and reading mystery books like Sherlock Holmes, Geronimo Stilton, and many more. Let's say I did a little bit of advanced studying during my high school days which leads me to excel in my college days. To cut t
Sorry, It's been a while since I updated. I was kinda busy on work stuff... I hope you enjoy the story so far! <3
A beeping sound woke me up, cold air passes through my nose as I inhale. Carefully, opened up my eyes as the bright white light blinded me when I fully opened them. "Jane?" A gentle voice called me. It called me for the second time and it caught my attention and I glanced where the voice came from, realizing it was Nick. Sitting beside the hospital bed, he gently touched my hand. "Where are we? What happened? Did you catch the guy?" I looked up at him puzzled. "No, they didn't. I've called back up to search the entire area where we encountered the suspect, We scanned every nooks and cranny of the area still nothing." Nick sighed. Dextrose we're attached to my left hand, and an oxygen mask is on my face. So that's where the cold air came from. Sea
Self-reliant, dauntless, and scornful. But this is all just a facade, a mechanism to deal with my unsettling past.I was born and grew up in a high-class family in an urban city, Lived happily until I was about 17 years old, but at that point, things changed. I decided to live out from my family. Their glamorous and luxurious lifestyle is not for me. Left without them even knowing and started a new life in this little city, find a job, and rented a small apartment just for me. I don't have friends as much but I do know a lot of people. Ross accepted me to work for his little mechanic shop. The wage wasn't that high but it was enough to fees myself and to pay bills. And suddenly these shenanigans happened. I was accused of being a murderer for very little evidence. You're probably wondering why I decided to help both
The corpses sitting at the morgue made more noise than either of us, we just stared each other down as the silence wore on. The radio on my desk had been turned off since the start of this “interview” if you could even call it that. I figured neither of us would appreciate being interrupted while talking. To be honest, I’m pretty sure we both hated the damn thing, but I kept it out of courtesy. It’s not every day you get a fifty-dollar radio for your first successful case. The woman in front of me, who was unrelentingly trying to bore a hole into my head, was Maria De Vega, one of the PD’s suspects for a recent string of murder’s going around near the red-light districts. Maria was a mechanic who worked at Ross and, allegedly, a well-known vagrant in her area.At first glance, you’d think that’d be the case. She had dark skin, with curly hair that was a
As I scan the documents in my hand, I could feel Maria's piercing gaze upon me. The situation is not fun for both of us. I know she knows something about the killings around the area. But some things holding her back. What could it be?"Can we get over this now? My nagging boss will be not happy about this". Maria scoffed aggravatingly." look, I know you don't like it in here and I know how stressful it is to be blamed as a suspect for a crime. But can you please cooperate with u-..""How many times will I tell you that I know nothing! It's just a coincidence that I know these people and it's just all acquaintances!"Maria cut me off before I even finished my sentence. She's being defensive and I could feel it because of the way she plays with her ring, shaking voice, and
At 3 pm, Nick and I together with a convoy of police officers picked Maria on her work. I talked to Ross, her boss that we need to investigate the killings in the area. And Maria was the too suspect. Ross was not happy about it obviously. We got into the vehicle with Maria and drive on the way to the office. We got into the office and went into the Interrogation room as usual, and get into the interview. As Usual, Maria knows who the victim was."He was a friend of mine back in high school. I came across him the other day and we catch up with our lives for a while then we headed on our way".Her eyes darted towards me and with a serious tone she said;" But I didn't kill him"."But all the other victims were related to you, and yo
While Jane was working on the case, Nick suddenly came up with a new report. "Rumors were roaming around the city about an occult. But it is not yet confirmed", Nick said calmly. Jane looked at him with a slightly annoyed glared " We have a more serious case here, and we have no time to investigate about rumors Nick". Then I remembered all the documents on Nick's desk. He's been investigating that occult thing since when??? "Woah geez, calm down tiger. Maybe it has something to do with the murders around the city. I will continue to investigate it. Do your thing I will do mine". Nick went back to his desk and went on in his research. The thick air inside the room is loaded my
As soon as I entered my apartment, I was greeted by my black cat, Luna. I immediately picked her up and gave her a big kiss. I sat down for a while and rested. I took a hot bath and changed my clothes. Finally, home where I can relax and be myself. "Having a relaxing time isn't that bad right Luna?" Luna just looked at me with her big round eyes and her fluffy face. I gave her a bowl of cat foo which she certainly enjoys. Of course, I prepared a meal for myself, meaning I ordered a box of pizza through the phone. I waited for my dinner while I do some light chores around the house. As I'm about to relax on the couch, the phone rang. *phone rings voice message began* "Hi, Jane! hope you doing okay! Just checking on yeah see you after your leave!" *end of voice message* "Oh, it's Nick good to hear from him after
My heart pounded as I heard the loud knock on the door. Maybe I'm just imagining things but again, another knock can be heard. I jumped out of the couch and grab my pistol. I slowly approached the door. Sweat from anxiety ran down across my forehead. Heart pounding from paranoia. I slowly opened the door and pointed the gun at whoever's on the other side. Pointed it out and then realized it was Nick together with Maria. A breath of relief take over me but furthermore shocked with the fact that Maria was with Nick."Woah chill out Jane it's just me and Maria"Nick Trembles as he raised his hands in the air. I quickly lowered the gun and put it on top of the shelf beside the door."For the last fucking time it's Anne you asshole! What's with you, Jane? You almost killed us with that fucking gun?!"
