my knight in charming armor.

Rather, let me rephrase that. The first guy that was walking before me, came to stop suddenly without prior notice, and I bumped into him.

It was obvious that the first guy wanted to flare up the moment he was bumped into but didn’t when he looked up and saw the new guy’s face.

Though I don’t know who he was but from his outfit, aura, and the way the first guy reacted to him, you could tell that he was not one to be trifled with.

An idea popped up in my head as I watched his reaction to the new guy.

First, his eyes widened on realizing who it was before he quickly took some steps away from the new and gave him a ninety-degree bow.

To say I was surprised at the turn of events was an understatement. But as I kept watching I wondered what the identity of this new guy was to be able to make a guy who was arrogantly rude and ruthless towards me a while ago, meek and humble as this.

“Your Highness, it is a great honor for this humble servant to come across your way.” He said but to me, it was so obvious that he was this way so that he could be noticed by this royal dignitary.

Though it was like that, I couldn’t blame him for being that way. Who wouldn’t feel honored to be in the presence of a royal? I for one felt honored even though I have no idea which royal family he’s from or if he was even close in line to the throne.

Just the mention of ‘your highness’ had me feeling honored.

But that’s not what matters to me now. What matters is how I’m going to make my escape from these guys by using the Prince. But before I put it into action I need to be sure if these guys and the prince are not in a close relationship with each other or the guys are not working for the Prince. One can’t be too sure.

The prince didn’t answer him but instead looked directly at me with a smile and an expression I could not fathom.

However, his gaze gave me an uneasy feeling. It was as though he was a predator that just saw an interesting prey and could not wait to bounce on it to devour it.

Though he tried to hide it with a smile, I could still tell what was behind that smile.

My heartbeat plummeted in fear and I took an unconscious step backward as I realized that he was far more dangerous than the two strangers.

The plan I had devised within me flew out the window upon this realization. It was better to go with the strangers than with the prince.

I might not know who he is or what he is capable of doing, but one thing I was sure of is that he was dangerous, extremely dangerous.

I shook my head and held onto to chest as my vision blurred and I tried to control my breathing and not go into a panic attack.

Everywhere became hazy as I tried to focus on my breathing. But the more I tried the more my panic increased and fear gripped my heart.

I knew I couldn’t lose my consciousness here and at this moment no matter how hard I tried to control it, I knew it was a lost course. Still, I kept trying.

I was about to completely lose consciousness when I felt a hand grab hold of me and pulled me to a warm body.

Instantly I felt safe and my panic attack stopped immediately.

I gradually opened my eyes and a face I know would be implanted into my heart for a very long time, became visible before me, mouthing some words at me.

At first, I could not hear what he was saying but as I became more aware of my surroundings, I realized that everyone’s attention was on me.

I turned my attention back to the face before and d**n I was mesmerized.

It was the epitome of beauty. I would never in a million times think of me coming across such beauty.

He had a Teutonic-gold hair that I would be adored by the fairer sex with a crescent-of-moon eyebrow that was thin and narrow. He carried an imperious nose well and his angular cheekbones carved down towards a flinty jaw. If not for the situation, I would have been tempted to trace my fingers along his cheekbones to confirm if they were real.

Not only his cheekbones but I would also have been tempted to trace his mariner-blue eyes that were orb around and darted constantly with a gleam of delight and the vigor of youth. They shone brightly as two sapphires dipped in milky pools.

Not that I wasn’t tempted to do so, I was, but considering the time and situation, I had to reign it in.

I could only gaze at him with adoration.

“Are you alright?” I finally hear him say and come to realize my current position in his arms.

He was holding me in his arms, chest to chest with no gap between us which became awkward for me upon realization.

I quickly adjusted myself and stepped away from him while muttering urgently, “Yeah…yeah I’m alright. Thank you.”

“Are you certain?” he asked me concerned but not releasing his hold on my arms.

Nodding my head, I said more calmly, “Yes, I am.”

Though he didn’t let go of my arms, he wasn’t holding them roughly so that they would inflict pain on me, rather he was holding them with care and concern.

I have no idea why, but I have a feeling he was not one to be trifled with.

Despite that, there was something about him that told me that I could trust him. Yes, judging from his outfit and charisma, he seems no different from the Prince, but with him, I could be at ease. He could be dangerous but somehow I felt he wouldn’t hurt me.

I don’t know how but I just felt that way. I can’t help thinking of him as my knight in charming armor.

“Are you acquainted with her, your highness?” The Prince asked my knight who in turn is an actual Prince also.
