I stared at the food on my plate in a daze. The food looked good, too good in fact, but my appetite was long gone. It was honestly never even there to begin with.

I sat on one end of the table and Olpheus sat at the other end.

I pushed the food around the plate with my fork unable to force another bite down my throat.

I looked at him through the corner of my eyes. He was eating his food just fine, like this was any other day, and he hadn’t just thrown his father in jail.

  • Bonded to the Elf king   Troubled sleep

CHAPTER 101I drew my face into what I hoped was an unreadable mask. I looked into the eyes of the man that was supposed to be my first love. My hero, my everything. He regarded me with cold eyes. There was nothing new about that. It was the very look he had given me from the first time I knew him.I suddenly felt tired. I wished my life wasn’t so complicated. Was I cursed??The people who brought me into the world couldn’t care less if I lived or died my sister hate me to her very bone and the first man I thought I had loved was just a cheap two timing whore. Then there was Olpheus. The blessing, or at least that was what I was hoping he still was.“Why do you hate me?” I asked, not having it in me to have an unnecessary back and forth. My life was draining enough just as it was already. He smiled up at me with in that knowing way that sent unpleasant shivers down my spine. “Going straight to the point I see?” he said, mockingly. “A little out of character for you though, you always

  • Bonded to the Elf king   Long enough

CHAPTER 100His face visibly hardened. “Why would you want to put a pause on it?” he asked in a deceptively level tone. “The sooner you’re crowned queen, the faster we’ll be completely mated.”“Olpheus,” I said softly. “If I was so happy here, then why did I go back to my pack?” I asked, studying his expression intently. He refused to meet my gaze. “They were manipulating you.” He said, still looking anywhere but at m.“Lyara was manipulating you, and she kept on trying to drive a wedge between us.” Some part of me believed him… but there was this other part…Yes, I knew Lyara wasn’t exactly the best person at the moment, but she couldn’t have been my sole reason for leaving. I had never been that easy to manipulate.I looked at him without a word. I didn’t believe him. Not even a little bit.He looked back at me studying my face intently. I don’t know what he was hoping to find, but he definitely didn’t find it.He gave a tired sigh, his shoulders dropping. He came up from behind me

  • Bonded to the Elf king   Little bit of manipulation

CHAPTER 99“How did you-” he cut himself off. “I was going to say that you came here whenever you were upset. I never hit you.”I almost believed him. I wanted to throw away all the stupid memories and believe him, but I knew he was lying to me, and honestly? That wasn’t something I wanted to ignore.I scoffed at how honest he sounded. “Don’t lie to me, Olpheus. I’m the last person you’d want to lie to right now.”He didn’t admit it right away. He stood in place, looking at me for what felt like an entire hour before releasing a deep breath. “I’ve changed, I promise.” He said, giving me the same desperate look I had seen in every single one of the memories from my past life.“I regretted it every single day, Eloise.” The sound of my name from his lips in that very moment did something to me that I couldn’t really explain.“I regretted it when you left me all alone and returned to your pack. I regretted it when I had to choose between you and my kingdom and I swear I still regret it e

  • Bonded to the Elf king   Beaten

CHAPTER 98He was still breathing heavily in my face, and it was taking everything in me to stay put and not run out of this room.“I’m going to let go of you now.” He said slowly, like he was talking to a child that had trouble understanding.“Make sure you don’t act out.” Act out? Was that what he was calling this? This was me responding like any other normal and logical human being. He was acting like a completely different person. What was I supposed to do? Sit by him and smile till he punched a hole through my face? Definitely not.He slowly let go of my arm. He stood there for a second, looking at me like I would disappear any second. He was right. Soon, I spun on my heel and quickly made my way out of the room.I didn’t know where I was going; all I knew was that I had to get as far away from him as possible.I turned down multiple hallways before I finally stopped when I reached an open space.I looked around and realised that I had never been to this part of the castle befor

He looked calm, like he was completely unbothered and I was the only one who cared about everything that had happened in the last 24hours.I gave him a lazy half shrug. “I’m fine, honestly. I don’t really have much of an appetite.” I sat there a while longer, staring at my plate in silence before I signaled to Natalia to help me with my things. She had almost gathered them completely when I heard his cold and commanding voice from acro

  • Bonded to the Elf king   Locked away

CHAPTER 96Eloise’s POV“I had to step up and stop this kingdom from going to ruin because it seems like you have gone mad.” His father said.“You had no right!” I couldn’t see his face, but his voice shook terribly, and I suddenly wished I was by his side.“How dare you touch my mate?!” He said again; if I didn’t know better, I would have thought he was crying. His father eyed him with a look of disdain. “What will you do?” he asked, looking Olpheus up and down. “You have no powers to even fight me.”As soon as those words left his father’s lips, a burst of magic filled the room. I felt my wolf shy away in fear.It took me a while to realise that it had come from Olpheus. A shiver went down my spine from the intensity of things. I had never felt his magic so intensely before. His father’s face had drained of all colour. He took slow steps toward him, putting one foot in front of the other. The closer he came, the paler the old man seemed to be, it was almost like he was rooted into t
