Chapter 3

Author: Perfect Timing
The livestream chat exploded as more and more people flooded in to join the drama.

Some creep fixated on my thighs and typed, "She's got no thigh gap at all. Yeah, she's definitely a virgin."

But the moment that comment appeared, Serena's fans came after him without mercy.

One wrote, "What the hell is that supposed to mean? Are you implying that Dr. Lawson's diagnosis was wrong?"

Another commented, "If you don't know anything about medicine, then shut up! Dr. Lawson's a brilliant OB-GYN. She doesn't make mistakes!"

The next comment read, "Come on! It's obvious she cheated on her boyfriend. Those comments defending her were probably just bots she paid for."

Another person replied, "Hey, that's possible!"

Comments like that poured in nonstop, with dozens popping up every second.

With the crowd on her side, Serena flashed a triumphant smile before saying, "Jolene, everyone makes mistakes. What matters is that you own up to them. There's no need to be so stubborn.

"I told you to rest for your own good, for the sake of your health and your baby. If you've got an issue with me, just say so. But don't question my skills as a doctor."

She made herself sound so righteous that even the skeptics in the chat started taking her side.

The chat was blowing up. By then, someone had already turned my face into a meme, with the words, "I'm pregnant, but I'm just too stubborn to admit it!"

My phone wouldn't stop buzzing either. Friends and relatives who had seen the stream kept messaging to ask if I was really pregnant.

A cold smile crept onto my lips as the chaos reached its peak.

"Serena, you're confident in your medical expertise, aren't you? According to your diagnosis, I really am pregnant, correct?"

A flicker of surprise crossed Serena's eyes. I spoke with calm precision and looked nothing like the flustered wreck she had expected.

Still, she nodded and slipped right back into her high-and-mighty act.

"Yes, you're pregnant and not just by a few weeks. You're not showing because you've been deliberately controlling your weight and trying to slow the baby's development.

"But Jolene, as a doctor and a friend, I have to say this. The child is innocent. Please don't punish it for your mistake. Just rest and take care of yourself and the baby."

That was when Gordon stepped in front of me. His gaze was icy as he said, "Serena's right. The kid is innocent.

"I won't make a fuss about you screwing around behind my back, and I don't care who you got pregnant by. That illegitimate child has nothing to do with me. Let's just break up."

His speech turned the chat into a collective sob-fest. To the viewers, he was the poor guy who got cheated on but still handled it with class.

Tons of women were fangirling in the comments, saying they'd love to have his babies.

Once I had baited them far enough, I nodded. A beat later, I shot back, "But Serena, you never even examined me. There were no tests. You kept insisting I was pregnant after several simple questions.

"Are you ready to take responsibility for that? Because if I'm not, then not only were you wrong, but you've also slandered me in front of everyone. I have every right to hold you legally accountable."

In an instant, Gordon's face twisted with rage. He stepped in front of Serena, shielding her as he shot me a scathing glare.

"Even now, you won't own up to it, huh? There's no way Serena got it wrong! You're just trying to drag her name through the mud! For all we know, you could get an abortion at some clinic and then say she misdiagnosed you."

Gordon spat, "I didn't realize you were this twisted, Jolene. You screwed up, and now you want to take a decent doctor down with you?"

The way he blindly defended Serena made my blood boil. I was one second away from slapping them both, but I held back.

Instead, I calmly reached into my tote bag, pulled out a surgical report, and held it up to the camera. "Abortion? That'd be impossible because I was never able to get pregnant to begin with."

The livestream chat was flooded with comments like these, all displayed in real-time on the massive screen. Each word landed like a punch to the gut. Serena and Gordon lowered their heads, unable to withstand the shame. The moment the judge delivered the sentence, their legs gave out, and they collapsed to the floor. With multiple charges stacked against them, the court ordered the seizure of all their assets and imposed over a million dollars in fines. In addition, they were each sentenced to 20 years in prison. As the officers escorted Serena and Gordon toward prison, Gordon passed right by me. When he saw how well I looked, something in him snapped. Without warning, he broke free from the officers and lunged at me like a madman."Jolene! Please, help me! Drop the charges," he pleaded. "I know I messed up, but I swear, I'll treat you right from now on. I'll never hurt you again. Please… If you let this go, I won't have to go to prison or pay that insane fine!"He gripped my

I let out a quiet laugh in response to Gordon's accusations.I didn't say a word. Instead, I hung up without a second thought, then deleted his number and blocked him. …On the day of the trial, Serena and Gordon stood before the court as defendants, looking utterly defeated. Gordon, in particular, was visibly dazed. He had no idea why he was standing there with Serena and facing charges. But the evidence my attorney presented moments later cleared up his confusion perfectly. It turned out my attorney had legally obtained surveillance footage from multiple pharmacies. In those clips, Gordon was seen accompanying Serena as she purchased the ingredients for her concoction.Employees also came forward with details of their conversation, confirming that he had known exactly what was in her formula. He knew the mixture was dangerous. Yet, he stood by while Serena sold it live online, scamming patients who came looking for help.Worse, in the name of profit, he promoted Serena to

The night before the hearing, Gordon kept calling me nonstop. Worn down by the incessant ringing, I finally picked up. The second the line connected, he launched into a tirade. "Jolene Miller!" he yelled. "I never thought you could be this cruel. Serena is no longer allowed to practice medicine. Isn't that enough for you?"Her family's bankrupt! Everything she did was just to get by. Why are you trying to ruin her completely? She didn't even hurt you. "Besides, you've cleared your name. Wasn't that enough? Why are you so hell-bent on destroying her?"Gordon's accusations kept coming, one after another. Before I knew it, my mind wandered back to everything that had happened in my past life.Back then, when I hit rock bottom, I called him too, begging him for help. I had the hospital report in my hand. It confirmed I was still a virgin and not pregnant. But Gordon didn't even bother to look. Instead, he slapped the paper out of my hand and stared at me with eyes full of contem

Serena had made some money, and with it, she hired trolls to manipulate public opinion. She even had them scrub her name from the trending topics. Slowly, the online discussions about her died down.Meanwhile, the post I made to prove my innocence got flooded with comments from the trolls she had paid for. One wrote, "Everyone makes mistakes! Are you saying you've never screwed up in your entire life?"Another commented, "So what if Dr. Lawson misdiagnosed you? It's not like she actually harmed you. Do you really have to go after her like this?"The next one read, "Exactly! I know you're the victim, but you're taking it too far. Ever heard of letting bygones be bygones?"There were hundreds, maybe even thousands, of such comments under my post. On top of that, my inbox was flooded with insults, threats, and demands to delete my post about Serena. Otherwise, they'd sue me for defamation.Yet, I just smiled as I read through their rage-filled comments. I took screenshots of each

Even though Serena had shut down the livestream the moment she sensed things going south, it was already too late. Everything had been recorded and was available for replay.Netizens quickly edited clips of her misdiagnosis and circulated them online. After Connor, one of the most respected figures in the field, publicly defended me, I uploaded my complete medical records for everyone to see. The reports detailed how I had been diagnosed with uterine fibroids six months earlier and had undergone a hysterectomy just last week. With certified diagnostic records from the hospital and surveillance footage capturing the entire process—from consultation to surgery to discharge—my innocence was no longer in question. In contrast, Serena's medical expertise came under heavy fire. What truly set off the backlash was the final part of the livestream, when she failed to recognize one of the country's most renowned medical experts. That moment alone sparked heated debate online for quit

After landing that punch, I stepped back behind Connor. I stared at Serena and Gordon coldly, then spat, "This is my house. Sluts and their lackeys aren't welcome. Get out!"Serena stumbled back, while Gordon stared at me in disbelief. Then, he touched his swollen eye and barked, "Jolene Miller! What did you just say? Care to run that by me again?""I meant exactly what I said," I shot back with a sneer. "This house is for decent people, not sluts and their lackeys. "Want me to make it clearer? Fine. To me, Serena's nothing but a slut, and you're the fool who follows her around, cleaning up the mess she leaves behind."That set him off. Without another word, he roared and lunged at me. But Connor kicked him hard, sending him flying. Gordon crashed into the far wall before collapsing to the floor. He clutched his stomach and shot us both a murderous glare. "So you've been sneaking around with another guy all along? Unbelievable, Jolene! Still pretending to be with me while
