The following day, we prepared for the plan to be executed. Marina managed to disguise our mother well. She almost looks unrecognizable even for us. Beforehand, we informed Salva of the plan and what had happened. He was angry, to say the least but he agreed with the plan. He immediately knew that it was me who planned everything and he just laughed and told me that it was very predictable. My brother knows me so well but I’m glad he does. It saves me the trouble of convincing him otherwise.
“Are you ready, mother?” I asked her. She nodded and looked at herself one more time in the mirror. She said she could barely recognize herself. She looked like a different person. I woke up the following morning without Primo beside me. I had already expected for him to leave for work since he did take the day off yesterday. Apparently, my plan to keep my mother safe had a bad effect for Primo since the Bratva destroyed a plane right in front of the public’s eye. He had to deal with the repercussions and now he’s busier than ever. If I had thought things through then I wouldn’t have given him such heavy responsibilities. “Oh by the way sis, someone came over while you were still asleep. I can’t believe I almost forgot to tell you.” Marina said as we sat down on the couch. We had just finished cleaning up the living room from the mess that we had made previously. Now we were planning on brainstorming some more while waiting for the private investigator that I hired. As evening came, we were surprised when we saw Niccolo and Primo got out of their car. We didn’t expect them to come home. Usually, they wouldn’t come home for at least 4 or 5 days, maybe even a week. The moment we saw their car while we were upstairs, Marina and I quickly raced down to the front door to greet them. The following morning, Primo was already in the shower when I woke up. I quickly ran down first to the bathroom to wash up and then I went to the kitchen to prepare breakfast. Primo and I decided to just watch a movie with Niccolo and Marina but it was cut short when a guard came by to tell us that Chiara was by the front gate and she was yelling for the guards to let her in.
