**Emily’s POV**
The drive to his house was quiet and exceptionally uncomfortable; I was seated in the back seat of a sleek Porsche car while the middle-aged woman from earlier sat in the front with a chauffeur who was too relaxed to be an employee.
“What’s your name?” He asked.
“Emily,” I whispered, ignoring the lopsided grin on his face.
“I don’t think he’s a chauffeur, his aura is too strong to be one,” Someone whispered. I looked around but found no one.
“Did you say something?” I asked the middle-aged woman who stared at me with a funny expression on her face.
“I did.” The same voice replied, “And stop looking around, you look crazy!” It said with a giggle.
In frustration, I closed my eyes and pressed my head against the window close to where I sat.
After a while, I realized the voice was in my head.
“Who are you?” I whispered almost to myself. I pinched the bridge of my nose as her cheerful laugh rang through my head.
“I’m Ariel, your wolf."
My eyes snapped open and they rounded. I had a wolf?!
Normally I shouldn’t be this shocked that I had a wolf. But I was because, amongst my peers, I was the only one who didn’t get to meet my wolf last year when we all turned seventeen.
“Finally, you came!” I replied with relief washing through me. The people of my clan thought I was weak, and a curse because I did not have a wolf.
To make matters worse, a lot of people had gone to my father, and advised him to do away with my mother and have another because they felt she had cheated on him with a human to give birth to me- an abomination!
“We’re late bloomers," Ariel said.
Just as I was about to think of a sarcastic comeback for her statement, the driver said something that I didn’t quite catch.
“Huh?” I asked, looking up to find the middle-aged woman and chauffeur staring at me.
“I was curious as to why you are a slave but smell like royalty.” He said, making my heart race.
I was torn between telling these people who I was, so I could ask for help or keep my identity hidden to protect myself.
After weighing my options and the suffering I might cause myself if anyone found out about me as he still lives, I chose the latter.
“I don’t know why either,” I muttered. I knew my answer was not convincing enough and was glad when they simply let it be.
For the rest of the ride to wherever it was that we were going, the car remained dead silent, even my wolf did not say a word.

A few minutes later, the sleek car came to a halt at the driveway of a very beautiful mansion. It was ten times that of my father which I had always taken pride in.
“We’re here!” The middle-aged woman whispered, throwing a concerned look my way.
For a minute, I felt my eyes tearing up as she reminded me of my mother.
Throwing a sceptical look between the woman and the chauffeur, I took a gingerly step out of the car and waited.
From a distance I saw my mate, Alexander, talking to a group of men who looked like warriors. They looked like they were in a heated argument, but I didn’t miss the obvious fear in their eyes as they bowed slightly to him.
Who was he?
“What’s this place?” I asked the woman, even though I already knew what it was. I knew it was a pack house but wasn’t sure of the pack that owned this place.
“This is the territory of the Dark Moon pack,” She answered with pride, lacing her tone.
The name sounded familiar.
I blinked as I recalled where I heard it from. It was one of the few packs that my dad feared while he was alive. He had always talked about their wealth, and the ruthlessness of their Alpha with respect.
“It’s beautiful!” I murmured with a half smile on my face.
“More beautiful than my pack.” At the mention of my pack, my face fell, drawing concerned looks from the chauffeur and the middle-aged woman beside me.
I smiled again. A fake one this time.
“Follow me,” She said, tugging gently on my arm, “I was asked to drop you off at the slaves’ quarters.”
I threw another awed look at the vast expanse of wealth in front of me before I begrudgingly followed her.
I watched in amusement as healthy children bounced up and down without a care in the world, playing around a lush garden. Even some mothers sat in groups, cheering at their children.
A group of young adults like me who were being taught how to combat in an open field caught my attention and held it…what if I learned how to fight too?
With my thoughts jumbled up inside my head, I continued following the woman until she stopped in front of a less pretty building, “We’re here” She said turning to face me.
“This is our slaves’ quarters. Find Mary when you settle in, she’ll put you through.” She said with a smile, which never wavered from her face.
“You’ll resume your duties at the palace by 8 tomorrow, and close by 6 pm.”
“What’s my duties?” I asked. My brows tilted and my temple creased as I waited for her to list out all I needed to do.
I didn't mind being a slave. Despite how my master made it sound harsh. At least, I was alive and didn't have to keep running.
“I don’t know, it’s all up to Alpha Alexander to decide” She replied with a dismissive shrug.
“Thank you, ma'am, ” I said, turning to walk away.
“You can call me Amanda, everyone calls me that,” she added and I nodded.
"Will do." I bowed slightly, turned away from her, and made my way into the dark corridor leading into the slave quarters.
As soon as I was halfway into the corridor I froze.
Alpha Alexander… I mused.
She said Alexander was her boss earlier but didn't mention anything about being an Alpha.
Putting two and two together. I realized Alexander was a werewolf. I had thought his scent earlier was from his cologne.
Goodness! I couldn't believe I hadn't been using my nose properly to distinguish between human and werewolf.
I'd have known he was an Alpha. His strong scent and intimidating aura were hard to miss.
Instead, I was concentrating on him fúcking me.
Groaning, I facepalmed mentally.
Alexander was the Ruthless Alpha of the Dark moon pack?
I doubted there were two Alexanders here. He could be the one.
With curiosity gnawing at my mind, I opened the large doors to meet several curious sets of eyes staring at me.
Once again, I froze.
EMILY POVIt had been Six months, six weeks, Six days, six hours, and six seconds and Alexander was yet to wake up.Everything had been quiet and peaceful ever since Ethan and his father died. But my mate was yet to wake up. Ever since those spears and arrows pierced into his body, he had been unconscious, and the healer of the pack had been doing everything he could. He said he would wake up soon.Perhaps, I should be grateful he was still breathing because Rosie died—even her father.I felt pity for Rosie because I heard in the end, she knew she was wrong and asked for forgiveness. Even though she had caused us pain before, I still appreciated her bravery. She saved me from the spears and arrows. I sat beside Alexander on the bed and wiped his forehead with a small towel and water. Just then, Chad and Mary entered with Liliana. The little girl I saved from Ethan at the mansion six months ago.Liliana jumped on the bed and turned to me."Mommy. When will daddy wake up?" She asked.
EMILY'S POVI knew this part would come where I would have to use my fighting skills."What do you mean my powers won't work here? What did you do to me?!" I yelled. The urge to rush towards him and wipe the smirk off his face filled me.I couldn't do it. He had an advantage over me. He could use his magic, and I couldn't.Ethan disappeared, and he appeared right behind me. I felt his hand on my hair; turning, I swatted his hand away."I guess I need to stop playing," Ethan said. With that, he brought out his sword; it was surrounded by dark magic. He pointed it to me. "If I can't have you, he can't."I let out a breath and stared him in the eyes even as I was frightened about what he'd do to me.Ethan sprinted towards me and bellowed, "Accept me or die, Emily!""Never!" I grunted, dodging his attack.I jumped away from him and scowled. "Get over your obsession with me. I'll never be yours!"That seemed to infuriate him because his eyes narrowed.Ethan rushed towards me, and I dodged
ALEXANDER'S POV"Emily!" I yelled, dropping the sword with me. It clattered to the ground, and I rushed to where she was a while ago."Emily!" Swirling, I yelled again. But I got no response. She was gone. She and Ethan. They both disappeared into thin air.I gripped my head and let out a howl. How dare he?!"I'll kill him; I'll Kill him!" I repeated it over again. My body shuddered, and I gasped out as my heart constricted."I swear by the moon goddess, I'll kill him.""What's wrong?" I heard Chad's voice. But I could not respond to him. The rage that filled me this instant made me want to find Ethan in whatever hole he had crawled into and punch him."Alexander!" Chad gripped my hand, snapping me out of my daze.I turned to stare at him and noticed he was breathing hard with blood all over his clothes. Also., from the corner of my eyes, I saw Mary rushing towards me."Where is Emily? Where is Ethan?" She asked, and immediately I felt something sparkle on her wrist. It was a tattoo.
Emily's POVSword fighting, hitting, stabbing, choking, and kicking occurred in most of the fights. It was the survival of the fittest. I didn't stop fighting, either. Even though I felt fatigued at some point, Alexander would always come to my aid. Then, we teamed up and fought against Ethan."You are mine, Emily," Ethan said obsessively.I presumed it made Alexander furious."No, she is mine. She is my wife, and your declarations over here are pointless. You motherfucker." Alex said possessively. Ariel leapt for joy the moment she heard that."You are a vile man," I said to Ethan."Yes, I am vile and crazy for you, my love," Ethan said and raised his sword up but then Alexander dodged the incoming blow.Alexander roared, and the wind started to blow violently."I have never for once shared my woman with anyone. Emily belongs to me alone. Alone and not you. She is my wife. She is carrying my child. So you have no right over her." Alexander stabbed Ethan with his sword, but he heale
Emily's POVSwiftly, I turned to see Alexander—my mate. The father of my child was standing right behind me. Our eyes locked, and tears slid down my cheek.Immediately he pulled me into a hug, and I wept on his shoulder. Then I saw Mary, Chad and my...oh my goodness! My dad.Despite the tears in my eyes, I couldn't help but frown.I had mentioned to Alexander not to allow him to come over to face off against Ethan because he wasn't strong enough.I pulled away from the embrace and stared into his eyes. I missed him so much.I brushed off the nasty thoughts that swam in my head as I continued staring at him. I knew it wasn't the right place or situation to have such thoughts, but I couldn't help it."Why did you bring him along?" I asked him. Before he could answer the question, Alexander turned and made me take his position. It was then I understood what was going on.Ethan had cut Alexander on his back with his sword. But it didn't work on him. He healed immediately.Ethan might have
Emily's POVBlood spewed out of my mouth as Ethan punched me. Whatever he did to me, I promised myself never to cry.Not now. Not ever.I don't want him to see me as a weakling. Never! I clenched my fist and tried to prevent him from gripping my neck. Just then, a sword appeared in his hand, and he was keen on slitting my throat. But before it could reach my throat, I raised my hand; flames of fire emerged from my palm, and I used it to tackle him instead. I used it to smack his cheek, and I swear it got burnt. Ethan cried out in pain and fell on the floor. The sword disappeared from his hand.Using that opportunity, I got up from the floor and ran out as fast as possible. I ran out of that vicinity, looking for the poor little girl I had just saved—that wicked bastard. When I saw Ethan from afar again, I sprinted to the other side. It was then I saw William and the guard."Have you freed all of them? " I asked, breathing hard.I was exerting too much pressure on my body. I wonder ho
