Chapter 3

“That should be none of your business.” Kiran answered but with how her words faltered, I could tell that I was right. She didn't love Lucas, only loved the position she could get from being with him.

Was power so important to her that she was willing to be with a man she didn't love?

Anyway, why should I care. She chose that path herself, trampling on others to achieve her goal. As for Lucas, I hope he never comes to regret Choosing someone like her.

“ Stop idling around. Move your ass and prepare something for me to eat.” Kiran ordered, seemingly wanting to change the topic, not like I was intending to press the matter any further.

Following behind her, I made my way to the kitchen.

I stopped in my tracks seeing how messy the kitchen was.

Everything was a mess, from the floor, to the table and the counters. It's like someone purposely made the mess.

“ Get everything cleaned and don't keep me waiting.” Kiran sneered from behind me.

I didn't need to be wise to know that she was responsible for the mess in the kitchen. She was purposely making everything hard for me.

I got down to work, not wanting to argue with her, not like arguing with her would amount to something. If anything, it would only thrust me into deeper shit and honestly, I wasn't looking forward to that.

An hour later, I walked out of the kitchen with a tray balancing in my hands.

My back and waist were screaming at me but I could not afford to slack off.

Making my way to Kiran's room, I knocked slightly, walking in after I was granted entrance.

Kiran sat by the bed holding a book which she seemed to be reading.

I rolled my eyes at her pretence. The woman is as dumb as a pig and reading is never something she would do without being forced.

Handing her the cup of warm milk, I stood before, waiting for her to spout her complaints. She always has something to say about anything I do and I have a feeling this time, it wasn't going to be an exception.

The next moment, I flinched when the liquid splashed on me. The thin fabric I was wearing stuck on my body like a second skin.

The door was pushed open and Lucas entered. His eyes scanned Kiran before they landed on me.

“ What's happening here?” He asked, his eyes scanning me like I was some criminal. Or maybe I was because the next words that left Kiran's mouth painted me as one.

“ It's her. She is trying to kill our child.” Kiran declared, her words making my eyes narrow at her. What was she up to this time?

“ What did you do?” Lucas asked, I could feel the anger in his voice.

I shook my head frantically.

“ I didn't do anything. I served her some milk and she poured it on me.” I explained, hoping that at least for once, Lucas would believe me because I was saying the truth.

“ Are you saying that I am lying?” Kiran shrieked before she burst into tears.

Ignoring me, Lucas walked to Kiran before pulling her in his arms and coercing her.

“ Tell me what happened and I will seek justice for you.” Lucas said, rocking kiran in his arms.

Looking at the two people, I could not help but feel bitter inside.

Seek justice for her meant I will be subjected to another round of torture. Of course, Kiran wasn't going to let this chance to see me in pain slip past her fingers.

Sighing, I resigned to my fate. I wasn't going to leave this room without a sentence passed on me.

“ I asked her to bring some milk to me and she brought a freezing cold glass of milk. You know that's dangerous for the baby. She must want me to miscarry our child. She still holds a grudge because you chose me over her.”Kiran explained, bursting into tears again.

“ Is that true?” Lucas turned to ask and I chose to remain quiet. He won't listen to anything I say so why say anything in the first place? It's such a waste of time and he will consider it as me finding excuses.

“ I am talking to your, Everly. Or are you suddenly deaf or something?” Lucas thundered making me flinch.

My eyes connected with kiran's and she smirked at me. This was her intention all along, getting me into trouble with Lucas.

“ If I say that the milk was warm, would you believe me?” I asked, looking him in the eye even when every nerve of my being screamed at me to not talk back.

I was getting tired. I was tired of being falsely accused and getting punished.

Just because he chose her over me, did that make me a sinner in his eyes.

Having tolerated all the shit they threw at me over the past month, I was finally tired. Even a criminal gets the chance to tell his side of the story.

Lucas didn't say a word and I took that chance to speak my mind.

“ It's okay if you didn't want to take me as your mate but did you have to humiliate me to this extent? What wrong did I ever do to the two of you? I was a good friend to you kiran but how did you repay me? And you Lucas, I never asked the moon goddess to make me your mate. I wasn't enough for you? Well, you could have just rejected me. If you hate me so much, why not just banish me from the pack? I would rather be a rogue than endure the humiliation you are putting me through.” I ranted, pouring my heartache out.

Why would they treat me worse than a dog?

Looking at Lucas, my words seemed to have struck a chord. He looked away, not in the least confident to look me in the eye.

“ Don't listen to her empty words Lucas. She just wants to waltz her way out of her crimes using that emotional speech.” Just when I thought I had a chance to walk without being punished, kiran ruined everything for me.

To her, I was just trying to escape punishment, maybe that was right but the words I said were from the bottom of my heart.

I was really tired and would prefer if Lucas could banish me from here and save me the pain.

I would rather be what I have hated being all my life than live this kind of life.

Being a rogue is not something any wolf would want for themselves but at this point, that seemed better than being in this pack.

Lucas’s eyes changed black for a moment and I knew he was mindlinking someone.

A moment later, two guards entered the room.

“ Take her to the dungeons and lock her there until I say so.

I was dragged to the dungeons and remained there for God knows how many days.

“ Take her away. Clean her up and dress her. It's about time I get her off my back.” With my dwindling conscious, I heard Kiran order.
