Ethan's POV

The image of his fingers on her chin, their features so close, stirred a urge to entomb him and confine her to her quarters. It wasn't the kiss that crushed me; it was the closeness. The tender manner he lifted her face, the gentleness in her gaze toward him. It was a dialogue she and I had never shared. Our tie was born in blaze and frost, in resistance and primal craving.
