POV: Amelie

I didn’t make it ten steps before a bullet whizzed past my face, and I froze in my tracks, my heart dropping to the pit of my stomach.

The sound echoed through the warehouse—violent.

It had been so close to hitting my head.

“Where do you think you are going?” He asked and I swallowed hard.

I turned on instinct, hand flying toward the knife hidden in my boot. But I wasn’t fast enough.

Ferdinand was already there.

Right in front of me.

It was a mistake to turn my back on him.

“I wasn’t done talking,” he said quietly, as though he hadn’t just caged me in.

“I was.”

And I needed to get the hell out of here, and Faat.

It really was a mistake to be here.

“You always run when it gets too real.” His voice was soft. Patient. The kind of patience you only heard from someone who knew exactly how the story ended. “That’s your problem.”

“I don’t run,” I said, jaw tight. “I leave.”

Like how I was trying to leave now…

“Same thing.” He said as he circled me.

His silhouette loomed be

  • Bound By Blood: The Step-Brothers' Temptation   Luca

_Luca’s POV_I stared at the food on my plate, my appetite completely gone.I pushed the eggs aside with the edge of my fork, more interested in the silence than the food. Matteo sat across from me, chewing like he was grinding through bone instead of toast.I had told him to quit it so many times but he just ignored me. Nico was to my left, quiet. Barely even touched his food since he sat there. My eyes shifted to the empty chair. Her chair. She hadn't come down still. I didn’t care.I didn’t.Matteo finally spoke. “Where’s Amelie?”I didn’t even look up.That seat had been vacant all morning. I’d noticed. Of course, I had. She was hard to ignore—even when you wanted to.Especially when you wanted to.But I said nothing.I just kept slicing through a sausage I wasn’t going to eat.Matteo glanced between us. “She didn’t come down with either of you?”“No,” I said simply. “Haven’t seen her.”That was the truth. I hadn’t. And if I was being honest, I hadn’t expected to. Something h

  • Bound By Blood: The Step-Brothers' Temptation   Drink

_Amelie’s POV_I had to double-check the address twice as I walked.A warehouse on the outskirts of the city. No cameras. No guards. No triplets to save me. Just a thin message on my burner phone that said: “If you want to know the truth, come alone.” Signed only with a black heart emoji.Cute.I felt like I was making a terrible mistake. But I couldn't turn back now. Actually, I could, but I wouldn't. The gravel crunched under my boots as I crossed the lot. Each step forward felt like shedding layers of safety I hadn’t realized I still had. My body was alert. Senses tight. This wasn’t just any meeting. This was a choice. And I had to make sure I came out of it alive. The warehouse was walkable from where we were, Ferdinand made sure of it. I wouldn't be walking if it was far. I had a hundred reasons to turn around actually. But I kept walking. And soon the warehouse came into sight. It felt like eyes were pinned on me, but I kept walking. A rusted steel door gave way with a pr

  • Bound By Blood: The Step-Brothers' Temptation   Well… shit.

POV: AmelieThe burner phone rang once. That was all.I froze, staring at it like it might detonate. I hadn’t seen it before. It hadn’t been there when I climbed into bed. But now it sat neatly on my pillow, like a gift wrapped in a threat.I had just been out of my room for thirty minutes earlier on and when I returned, there it sat. I didn’t touch it at first. Just looked.Someone had come into my room.. Close enough to leave that thing inches from where I slept. And it could only be one person. My hand hovered over it. My heart thudded, heavy and off-beat.I wanted to run back and let the triplets know, but I was curious too. On what and why it was here. Then I picked it up.I didn’t say anything when I answered. Just held it to my ear, breathing quietly, waiting. The line clicked. Then his voice slid through like smoke.“Hello, mi amor.”Ferdinand.I felt my chest cave in.I just knew it was him. Over and over. He showed me just how powerless I could be. How he could easily g

  • Bound By Blood: The Step-Brothers' Temptation   Prisoner with nicer walls

_Amelie’s POV_I should have locked my door before I walked into the bathroom. But I hadn't expected anyone to show up.Steam clung to my skin as I stepped out of the shower, the towel barely wrapped around my chest. My hair dripped down my back and my pulse had just begun to slow. Then I saw him.Matteo. Leaning against the bedroom wall like he’d been waiting for hours. Like this was his room. His shower. His girl.I stopped mid-stepWhat was he doing here?My eyes shifted to the door which was now locked and then back to his face.He didn’t speak. Just looked at me—eyes heavy-lidded and unreadable. His arms were crossed, one ankle lazily tucked over the other. But there was nothing relaxed about the energy pouring off him. It coiled through the air like smoke from a fire I couldn’t see but already felt burning.“How long have you been there?” I asked, throat dry.His voice was low. Smooth. Dangerous. “Long enough.”I tightened the towel. “You could’ve knocked. Or maybe waited for m

  • Bound By Blood: The Step-Brothers' Temptation   Mistakes

_Amelie’s POV_They found out.I knew it before I even stepped out of the shower. The house felt wrong—still, sharp-edged, like it had sucked in a breath and was holding it just beneath the surface. I dried off with shaking hands, ignoring the pounding in my chest. My eyes flicked to the ring box still sitting on the dresser. I hadn’t touched it again since last night. I wanted to burn it. But I hadn’t.That was my first mistake.I didn't tell the triplets about it. Even when they had come to check in on me. When Nico asked if I was alright and my response was a lie.My second mistake. When I stepped into the hallway, Nico was already waiting. His back was to me, but his body was coiled tight. Controlled fury. The kind that didn’t break things, but broke people instead.“You didn’t tell me,” he said, voice deceptively calm. “You didn’t tell anyone.”I swallowed hard. “Tell you what?”Part of me knew what he was talking about, but the other part wished it wasn't that.He turned. His e
