_Amelie’s POV_

My chest heaved as I took in greedy breaths.

My head was aching, my limbs hurting.

I was tired. So fucking tired.

But I couldn’t stop.

Looking at the piled up bodies all around me, I let out one last breath.

I didn’t know how long I had fought for. I couldn’t tell how many hours it had been since this fight started.

I lost count of time.

Has it been minutes? Or even an hour? Or two?

I couldn’t tell.

But what I did know was that if I stayed here for even a second longer, I might lose my chance to escape and all these would be in vain.

So I ran.

I ran like my life depended on it, because actually it did.

I ran down the hallway, past the rooms. I turned a corner as I ran down the staircase.

The thought that I actually had no idea where the fuck I was on a fucking map was frustrating.

Was I even still in the same state?

I couldn’t tell, but I would deal with all that when I left this shithole.

I ran until I could barely feel my legs. The blood left a clear tra

  • Bound By Blood: The Step-Brothers' Temptation   Airborne

_Amelie’s POV_I woke up in motion. Not metaphorical, not poetic.I mean literally airborne. My skull throbbed as gravity dipped and swayed beneath me, a sickening lurch in my stomach that could only mean one thing: I was on a plane. How the fuck was I on a plane? The last I remembered, I had passed out after Nico had shot Ferdinand. What happened after that? But I didn’t have an answer to that question, and I know three people who did. My tongue felt like sandpaper. My wrists ached. Everything felt foggy and the reason hit me like a brick. They had drugged me.I blinked slowly, trying to steady my breathing. My vision cleared just enough to register the worst sight imaginable.Them.Luca stood near the minibar, arms crossed, covered in bloodstains that looked too fresh for my liking. Matteo was pacing, chewing on a toothpick like he was preparing for a street fight. Nico sat across from me, elbows on his knees, watching me like he expected me to explode.Smart man.Because I did

Author’s POVAmelie hid under the table, knees folded, pressed to her chest as she tried to make herself as invincible as possible. She had been running, and each time she tried to reach the exit, Ferdinand was there.Waiting.Like he could smell her desperation before she even took a step, and he had known just where she would be running to.Her breath hitched. Her arms trembled from exhaustion. She wasn’t sure if she was crying from fear or frustration anymore. Maybe both. She had dropped the knife somewhere in the last hallway—her hand had simply given up holding it. And even if she’d found it again, her body didn’t have the strength to lift it. Not anymore. She had done all she could do, but it almost seemed like it was for nothing The walls of the room felt like they were breathing, squeezing her, closing in.“I’m tired,” she whispered to herself. “I’m so tired.”But giving up wasn’t an option. Not after everything. Not after the blood she spilled. Not after the things she had s

  • Bound By Blood: The Step-Brothers' Temptation   Saving myself

_Amelie’s POV_I watched as the bullet flew towards him, then I fired another. This time aimed at his head. The first bullet grazed his arm, bouncing off the wall and hitting another in his head. The second one went right into his head and I watched as he choked. Two down, three more to go. The other three men had their eyes wide, unable to believe that I had killed him.I didn't come out of it unscathed tho.My ribs hurt like mad, but I would survive this. “Come at me, mother fuckers.” I spat at them, clutching my knife and gun tightly. A siren went off and my heart dropped. I heard the voices of a lot of men, their footsteps thundering down the hallway. They were coming here. I immediately turned my head towards it, I had just a few minutes left before they got to me.Someone set off the alarms. I was barely managing when they were coming at me little by little.Would I survive a lot of them?I was just about to turn around when someone’s feet made contact with my back. The

_Amelie’s POV_The bullet whizzes past his head and my head widens. Oh shit.Immediately, he rushes for me and I fire once more. This time I don't miss. The man stops in his tracks, his eyes widening as he stares at the blood spreading on his chest. I didn't waste time, I let out another shot aimed at his head, catching his body as he fell. A choked sound came from the door and my head instantly snapped up. A maid stood there with a tray in her hands, eyes widened as she stared in shock.Slowly, I brought my finger to my lips, letting out a low “shhh.”I didn't want anything to spoil my plans today. Whimpering, she nodded her head as she pressed her lips together, her eyes still wide with fear. “Is there anyone there?” I mouthed and she shook her head. Cocking the gun, I kicked passed the two bodies on the floor, making my hair out of the room. After making sure there was indeed no one there, I turned to her. “You never saw me.” and I sprinted. My bare feet padded across t

  • Bound By Blood: The Step-Brothers' Temptation   Escape Plan

_Ameli’s POV_I had been waiting patiently for the right time, and soon it came. The day I escaped from this hellhole and set it ablaze. I had memorized everything about this house, including Ferdinand’s movements, the guard stationed at my door.I couldn’t tell how many were beyond that, but I hoped I made it out.And just as any other Wednesday. Ferdinand would be going for some ‘business’ and wouldn’t return for hours. And that was exactly what I needed, time to kill the people in this house. I could do this, I learnt how to fight—somewhat. I watched Ferdinand make his way towards his car from the window with a briefcase in his hand, my heart pounding as I waited for him to leave. He had just taken a few steps when he stopped in his tracks and I bit my lip. Come on… leave. Leave you wretched man. I urged in my mind, fingers digging into my palm. If I missed today, I would have to stay here for another seven days. And I swear I would set this house ablaze with me in it. I
