Michael's POV

I couldn't hide the excitement bubbling inside of me as I stared at the two step-sisters fighting.

My heart pounded against my chest.

One minute Jessica was on the floor all broken. Next, she was getting beaten by Rebecca, and now, she was doing the beating.

Rebecca had been punched, nodded, kicked, and tossed around like a rag doll.

I had never seen a shift moment this interesting and intriguing.

But I knew it wasn't because Rebecca was getting beaten, but because Jessica wasn't the one on the receiving end.

A while ago when she was getting beaten by Rebecca, I struggled to remain calm, to maintain my usual demeanor.

Even when her eyes met mine, it took a lot of strength to not let the shock flicker in my eyes.

She had gotten into my skull and my heart.

And right now, I couldn't hide it.

"You need to stop this, Dad!" Ruby, Rebecca's big sister yelled.

"And why should he?" I asked, flashing her a sinister look. "This was what your sister wanted, for no one to interfer
