Maya's POV

Roland slipped through Cassian's fingers by sheer luck.

The look that my husband came with that morning was that of a man that was willing to burn the world to the ground till he found him.

And over the next few days, it became evidently clear how obsessed Cassian was becoming with putting the matter to rest.

His men would leave in the morning, and come back late at night.

He stopped sleeping in the bedroom altogether, and I started to notice that he barely got any sleep.

Cassian's POV“Alpha Cassian! Come to the hospital!Maya has gone into labour!”Those were the words of Maya's father when he called me when I was in a meeting with some of the elders.Everyone around the table went silent, and all eyes were on me.It was finally happening! After nine months of waiting…planning…and excitement, Maya had finally gone into labour. The moment the entire pack had been waiting for, had finally arrived.“Go Alpha!" One of the elders immediately said with a sparkle in his eyes.I was frozen for a second, unable to believe that it was finally happening.Jasper was the one that shook me back to reality.“Now's no time to start panicking! Let's go Alpha!" He quipped as he was already on his feet and throwing a jacket on.As an Alpha, not a lot of things had me scared even in the slightest. However, when I heard that Maya had gone into labour, I felt fear for the very first time.I was finally going to be a father. And I couldn't hold it in.We weaved through the

Maya's POV “Luna! You look so beautiful," one of the maids said as I admired myself in front of the mirror. It had been one month since Roland was killed, and order had been restored throughout all the nine packs.Cassian went ahead and told me that it was finally time for us to do what we didn't get to do the last time. And that was to hold a Luna coronation ceremony. This time, he decided to go all out.The venue was bigger, allied packs were invited and security was beefed up tenfold. He was not going to make the same mistake that was made the first time. But, none of that was my concern for that particular day.Cassian strictly told me, “Today is your day.Leave everything to us, while you remain the center of all attention.Go out there and claim your crown in front of everyone!" And that was exactly what was happening. The gown that I had on wasn't just beautiful, it was the kind of masterpiece poems were written for.Delicate silver embroidery climbed from the hem in intricat

  • Bound To The Night Reaper   Chapter 132

Maya's POVThe trip back to the pack house was one long and silent one.Cassian, Ethan and I were in the back of one of the cars, and for the three or so hours that we were on the road, not a single one of us talked about how everything had gone down.We all kept exchanging glances, but never words. The day's events kept replaying in my mind and I couldn't still come to the acknowledgement that we were all going back.I almost lost my brother that day.And I was also so close to losing my mate.It even reached a point where I had started thinking that we were all going to die.But we hadn't.Every time I looked at Ethan, all I could see was the brother that did the impossible. When I saw him hitting Roland with his elbow, I was more than certain that bullets were going to fly.I was convinced that Roland was about to rain a barrage of bullets into his body and I would be a witness of my brother's cold blood murder.Little did I know what fate had in store for us.I couldn't help but l

  • Bound To The Night Reaper   Chapter 131

Cassian’s POVI was backed up to a wall. The gun that I held firmly in my hands, was one trigger away from putting down the man that had become a thorn in my side.‘Put him down!’ my wolf snarled, being that he knew that I couldn't let him do the killing this time round. The only problem was, Roland was standing behind Ethan. And no matter how good of a shot I knew I was, I couldn't risk it.I had put on a confident look on my face the entire time me and Roland were in that standoff. But with Roland’s gun pointed at Maya, I knew that the moment I would pull my trigger, he would pull his as well. That would be the instinctual reaction that I expected from someone in his position.I managed to drag the standoff for as long as I could, trying to see if I could find an opportunity to capitalise and take advantage as soon as his guard would go down. But that didn't happen. And when he finally doubled down to starting a count down, I knew that I had no other choice but to surrender. When he

  • Bound To The Night Reaper   Chapter 130

Maya's POVYou know, sometimes I always look at Cassian and think that madness couldn't even begin to describe the man that he is.Because why the hell would he stand there and look at Roland, holding a gun to my head, and decide to go ahead and say some stupid shit like that.I almost rolled my eyes, as I wondered whether he wanted Roland to kill me for him to know that he was serious. The belief that I held about knowing that there was a part of Roland that wouldn't harm me, was starting to melt away. His hand that was on my shoulder, clenched hard, and I could already tell the frustration that he had.I didn't need to look up to see it on his face.In fact, I was damn near frozen and shaking in my boots at the thought of a bullet going through my head. And my biggest fear wasn't even that.It was the thought that if he killed me right there and then, I wouldn't know what was going to happen to Ethan and Cassian. As if it wasn't enough for Cassian to trigger Roland like that, while

  • Bound To The Night Reaper   Chapter 129

Maya's POVThe drive was around three hours before I finally spotted the house from a distance.I didn't want to go rushing in just yet, since everything inside of me was screaming to tell Cassian where I was.My phone had been silent all through the ride, since I knew that if Cassian or my parents would have reached me, they would have probably found a way to talk me out of it and convinced me that it wasn't my place to fight Roland.Cassian would have probably already been at my side, but I wasn't willing to take that risk.I had a feeling that Roland wasn't going to hurt me.That was the only reason that I was able to finally escape his prison.I was his Achilles heel. But for a man obsessed like that, and with nothing to lose, I also knew that he couldn't have cared about anyone else.Even if it was my family. So, for him, killing Ethan wasn't something that was going to haunt him, and I needed to make sure that Ethan was safely out of his grasp. It was me that he wanted, and it w

Maya's POV: “This can't be real.” I said, pinching the skin on my forearm, hard enough to leave a red mark, desperate for the sharp sting to pull me out of this dream. Pain bloomed instantly, which told me that this wasn’t a nightmare. Declan had truly gone this far, crossing every line, and stoo

Maya's POV:Seated between my mom and dad at the worn wooden table, with the sunlight slanting through the lace curtains and catching on the faint lines of worry etched deeper into their faces every day. Declan's POV: The council chamber felt smaller than usual with me seated at the head, fingers drumming once against the wood before I forced them still. My mother, Victoria, occupied the chair to my right, her posture ramrod straight, lips pressed into that familiar line of disapproval. The Elders

  • Bound To The Night Reaper   Chapter 3

Maya's POV:I could see the shock flash across Declan’s face the second the words left my mouth, his eyes widening just a fraction, jaw going slack for half a heartbeat before he caught himself and I wasn’t entirely surprised. He had always known how I felt. He had seen the way I looked at him acr
