A lot of things didn't make sense at all! So, was it that the dog could have mistakenly broken the laptop and it was the dog who took the flash? Where was Lex? I leaned by my side against the wall and took a deep breath in a bid to calm the rate at which my heart juddered.

Just amidst the thoughts that flooded my head, the barking of a dog jolted me out of my thoughts. “Lex” I gasped, staring at the dog who had his tongue out as he wagged his tail.

“Come here” I bent slowly, making gestures for Lex to come closer and I was glad that he did. I ran my hands through its fluffy hair and patted him on the head gently.

“Good boy!”

At that moment, I felt the urge to question the dog even though I knew that it was going to lead to no end. “Lex, did you break the laptop in the study room and did you take the flash with you?”
