“Are you sure?!” Cassie gasped, reaching out and pulling the glasses right off Aviana’s face.

“Yes! My vision is totally clear, and I don’t need glasses anymore,” Aviana replied, swatting Cassie’s hand away.

“Then why is that a bad thing? Shouldn’t you be thrilled that nobody can call you a nerd anymore?” Cassie asked, her brow furrowing in confusion.

“You’re missing the point! This is terrible news because it can only mean one thing—Kevin Chen wasn’t lying...” Aviana panicked, her voice rising

“Get down to the basement, hurry!” Kevin ordered the man.“F*ck! It’s too late! It’s starting!” the man screamed, letting out a deafening cry as his bones began to contort and deform.“Oh, no!” Kevin rushed to the closet door where Aviana and Cassie were hiding and yanked it open.“Hi...” Cassie managed, offering a weak, awkward smile. Aviana, however, was frozen, her gaze fixed on the man undergoing the horrific transformation.“Aviana! This is no time to stare! It’s not safe for Cassie here—get down to the basement and hide! Quick!” Kevin commanded urgently.Cassie grabbed Aviana and pulled her toward the basement door, as Aviana still seemed completely paralyzed by shock.“Did you see what’s happening to him?! That’s going to happen to me, too!” Aviana cried out, pure terror written across her face.Cassie waited until they were safely in the basement before responding.“Kevin said this was a forced transformation. Wolves usually only transform during a new moon,” Cassie explained,

“Are you sure it’s safe here, Aviana?”Cassie tightened her grip on Aviana’s clothes as she followed closely behind her. They had decided to skip classes to reach Kevin Chen’s house in the woods early after finding out the doctor had left the school ahead of time.“Cassie, the sun is still up, so why are you afraid? And stop ruining my shirt!” Aviana exclaimed, pulling her clothes free from Cassie’s crumpling grip.“Aviana, I’m not afraid of the dark! I’m terrified of the wild animals living in these woods!” Cassie declared.“Well, I told you to stay in the car, but you insisted on coming along,” Aviana remarked.“Of course! I’m not leaving you alone,” Cassie answered, shoving a small pocketknife back into her bag.Aviana shook her head and kept walking. Soon, they came across the only house in the woods.“Are you sure a doctor lives here? Not a hunter or a witch?” Cassie asked, eyeing the old cabin made of logs.“What did you expect from Kevin’s house in the middle of nowhere? A mans

“Aviana Stone, Cassie Palmer... I don’t think either of you knows how to knock, especially you, Ms. Stone,” Kevin remarked.Ignoring his comment, Aviana paced around the space. “Who were you talking to?” she asked, seeing no one else present.“Did you see anyone in the room?” Kevin replied as he took a seat and booted up the computer.“I heard a voice, so don’t lie!” Aviana exclaimed.“Ms. Stone, are you the one who is sick, or is it your friend?” Kevin asked, abruptly changing the subject. He gave her a stern warning to keep quiet, leaving Aviana stunned as her eyes drifted toward a closed door.“Doctor Kevin Chen, we came here to—”Before Cassie could finish, Aviana swiftly covered her mouth.“Cassie needs medicine for a hangover!” Aviana interjected.Though bewildered by Aviana's sudden change of tone, Cassie quickly went along with it. “Yeah, my hangover is just unbearable.”“Just drink this, and you’ll be fine,” Kevin said, handing Aviana some medicine along with a slip of paper.

“Aviana, are you sure?!” Cassie gasped.“Sshh! Lower your voice!” Aviana hissed, shooting a quick, nervous glance up and down the busy hallway at the few students who had turned around at Cassie’s sudden outburst.Cassie grabbed Aviana by the shoulders and leaned in close. “Aviana, look at me. Are you 100% sure the woman in that vision was Vivian’s sister?” she whispered frantically.“Yes, I’m positive!” Aviana replied under her breath. “I don’t know what fully happened to her, but I saw Lauren running through the woods, terrified out of her mind.”Grabbing her textbook from her locker, Aviana turned back to Cassie with a hardened look. “I need to talk to Kevin Chen. Today.”“Yeah, you definitely should, because a girl waking up completely naked in the middle of a creepy forest is not normal,” Cassie agreed, shaking her head.“That’s not even the worst part,” Aviana admitted, her voice dropping lower. “What terrifies me is what I might have actually done while I was out there.”Cassie

“The sun’s not even up yet, but you seem to have accomplished a lot already,” Ethan said, resting his arms on the windowsill as he scanned Aviana from head to toe.“Don’t tell me you sleep naked and sleepwalk?” Ethan added, a sly smirk tugging at his lips. He pushed the window open further, carelessly exposing his bare chest to her view.“I wish I had an answer for you,” Aviana muttered, ignoring his tease as she looked up at the second-floor wall, trying to figure out how she was going to climb back up to her bedroom window.“Isn’t it a little too cold in this town for you? Aren’t you freezing?” she asked, unable to help herself. Every time she saw him in his room, he was half-dressed.“I was working out, so my body’s warm,” Ethan replied smoothly before vaulting straight out the window and landing lightly on the grass below.“What are you doing?!” Aviana gasped as he casually walked up to her.“Helping you climb up to your room,” Ethan chuckled.“Huh? How?” she asked, eyeing him wit

That sounds completely insane! Maybe your eyes just healed on their own, and you didn't notice because you were always wearing your glasses,” Cassie reasoned, trying to make sense of it.“Then how do you explain this?” Aviana demanded, quickly unwrapping the bandage around her leg.Cassie froze, completely speechlessly staring down at Aviana’s thigh. The gruesome animal bite from before had entirely vanished, leavin
