Chapter Thirty: You're a Prevert!

Iris Moore’s POV

The bathroom mirror was fogging up again. I wiped a small part of it with my palm, staring at my reflection.

For a second, I didn’t even recognise myself.

“Get a grip, Iris,” I muttered.

The whole day had been a lot. The man, the office, the dinner, that conversation and Aria. I exhaled slowly, pushing the thoughts away.

“Not now.”

I reached for my towel, wrapping it around myself before stepping out into the room.

My hair was still dam

Chapter Thirty-Two: Guess What HappenedIris Moore’s POV“Iris? Are you even listening to me?!”I blinked.“Oh sorry! Say that again,” I said quickly, dropping onto the bed, pulling my legs under me.“You haven’t changed,” the voice on the other end laughed. “Still zoning out mid-conversation.”I smiled.God, I missed that voice.“Silvia, it’s been like a year,” I said. “so pleaseeeee i’m allowed to be dramatic.”“A year and you forgot how to pick calls?” she shot back. “I’ve been trying this number for days!”“Days?” I frowned. “How did you even get my number?”“Austin.”Of course.I let out a small laugh. “That guy still talks too much.”“He said and I quote—‘If you find Iris, tell her I still make the best pasta in the city.’”I burst out laughing.“He would say that.”“So you do remember him.”“How can I forget?” I said, rolling onto my back, staring at the ceiling. “He nearly burnt the kitchen down trying to impress a customer.”“That was one time!”“That was three times, Silvia.

  • Bound by his Curse   Chapter Thirty-One: Typical Iris

Chapter Thirty-One: Typical Iris Nathaniel Crowe’s POV “Pervert!” For a second, I just stared at her..Then it hit me. A laugh broke out before I could stop it. It was not a smirk, not the usual quiet amusement. It was an actual loud and uncontrolled laugh. I sat up slightly on the bed, dragging a hand through my hair as the sound left me again. I couldn’t remember the last time I laughed like that..If ever. “This is not funny!” she snapped. That only made it worse. I looked at her, really looked this time. Her face was red. Not just flushed, it was fully red. Her hair slightly damp, strands sticking to her neck. That bathrobe loosely tied like she hadn’t even realized how… distracting that was. And the expression on her face, which was somewhere between embarrassed and offended. “I’m serious!” she added, clearly irritated now. “I can see that,” I said, still fighting the laughter. “Doesn’t make it less funny.” “You’re unbelievable.” “So you’ve said.” She grabbed another

I exhaled slowly, pushing the thoughts away. “Not now.” I reached for my towel, wrapping it around myself before stepping out into the room. My hair was still damp, water trailing lightly down my neck. I barely took two steps when I noticed him, Nathaniel standing by the bed with my phone in his hand. My brows pulled together instantly. “And what do you think you are doing?” He didn’t look guilty. Of course he didn’t. He was Nathaniel Crowe after all. His gaze flicked briefly to me, then back to the phone screen like whatever was on it was far more interesting. “It was ringing,” he said calmly. “And that means you pick it up?” I shot back, walking

  • Bound by his Curse   Chapter Twenty-Nine: What if She Hates you

Chapter Twenty-Nine: What if She Hates you Iris Moore’s POVDinner was, well, almost quiet. The kind that made every small sound louder than it should be.The clink of cutlery, the soft shuffle of the maids moving in and out. The faint crackle from the fireplace at the far end of the room. The table was already set when I walked in.Plates arranged like they belonged in a magazine, the silverware polished enough to reflect light. A spread of food that looked like it had taken hours to prepare and yet, I wasn’t hungry but I had to sit.Because what else was I supposed to do?Nathaniel was already there, seated at the head of the table, calm as ever, like nothing had happened earlier. Like I hadn’t seen something that apparently didn’t exist.“Eat,” he said without looking up.I picked up the fork, pushed the food around a little. I couldn't actually take a bite.“You’re not eating, Dollface.”“I am.”“You’re just moving food around your plate.”I sighed softly, dropping the fork.“Oka

  • Bound by his Curse   Chapter Twenty-Eight: My Darling Husband

Chapter Twenty-Eight: My Darling Husband Nathaniel Crowe’s POV “He’s here." she said certain. Her fingers were gripping my shirt like she didn’t trust her own balance. I could feel the slight tremor in them, even though she was trying to stay composed. “The man from that night,” she added, quieter now. “He followed me.” My steady hand covered hers where it held onto me. “Don’t look,” I said. I lifted my gaze slowly, scanning the hallway ahead. People were moving and having normal conversations. Staff, assistants. No hesitation, no tension, no one and nothing was out of place. I shifted slightly, turning just enough to widen my view but there was still nothing. No one was watching, no one looking at her the way she described. He was gone. My jaw tightened slightly. He was careful and that made him dangerous. “Where?” I asked. She leaned closer without thinking, her voice dropping to almost nothing. “There,” she said, her fingers tightening again. “He was right there.” I

Chapter Twenty-Seven: He’s HereIris Moore’s POVA knock came just as the room started to feel kind of too quiet.“Come in,” Nathaniel said. The door opened, and Zhang Wei stepped in with a tablet already in hand like he had been waiting for the exact second to interrupt.“Sir, they’re ready for you.”Nathaniel didn’t answer immediately. His gaze shifted to me like he was thinking.Me? The meeting? Or something else entirely.“I’ll be there in a minute,” he said finally.Zhang Wei nodded once. “Of course.”He stepped back out, closing the door softly behind him.Silence settled again.I crossed my arms slightly. “You run your meetings like that? Making people wait?”“They’ll survive.”“Well, one thing I know for sure is that, that is not very professional.”“They work for me.”I rolled my eyes. “Right. Of course they do.”He didn’t react to that. Instead, he slowly and calmly walked toward me.I straightened a little without meaning to. “What?”“You’re staying here.”“Obviously.”“If
